Honestly this hotel seems like a pretty good value. Rooms and furnishings generally nice, solid Western three star plus quality. Everything is clean, new, etc.
But besides the price I can’t really see a great reason to stay here. The location is 10 k from the city center and 20 k from the airport. There is a small mall complex connected and a floral exhibition, but besides that the surrounding consists of newly built apartments, some sort of freight facility, and as yet unused land.
And the size of the hotel is well probably the most Vegas-like I’ve seen outside of Vegas or Macau. Check-in at 1 am took almost fifteen minutes of waiting even will pretty full staffing. This place is so huge it has multiple lobbies, including one primarily used for tour groups. Breakfast is ~40 rmb to add to reservations that don’t include it. There’s lots of Chinese style options and it’s a great opportunity to meet several hundred new friends. Getting transportation at 8:30 am on a Sunday felt airport-like.
Honestly few things explicitly wrong with this hotel, but if you have the luxury to choose for reasons other price I would strongly prefer a better location, something more personal and less massive, etc.More
