With more than 2000 rooms, a shopping arcade, a green house and a big food court attached; it's a large complex. it s located in the outskirts of the city center. the rooms are minimally furnished and fairly standard. my room looks out to a large tractor yard ,a huge parking lot and a pool of water. The food court seating area turns into the breakfast area, food is less than desirable, and the ambiance of a prison cafeteria. It might look modern, it might be better than a HoJo back home, it is no 4 stars!

In the City of Flowers of the hotel, thousands of flowers are on display at the 60,000 sq. m ground. There is a large flower green-house, a perfume museum, shopping centre and a 4D cinema. Beautiful roses, orchids and many other flowering plants.

The rooms are very nice and the reception staff are lovely and speak English. The breakfast buffet is great if you want to eat traditional Chinese style. No juice or water to be found unless you count scalding hot water designed for making tea the Chinese are so fond of. I suppose managing your expectations is necessary even though this is a traditional Western hotel chain.....it is in Kunming!

Wow! One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in for the price we didn't expect it to be as beautiful as it was. Very modern looking the moment we walked in I was amazed at the how nicely decorated it was. The receptionist didn't speak English so we used a translator for some stuff but they were very sweet and helpful. If were ever back in China we know where to stay. *Breakfast isn't included as stated on Trip Advisor just an FYI.

Newer hotel with a shopping centre and garden atrium. The hotel is owned by the largest tour company in Yunnan province. The lobby can be chaotic at times as bus loads of your groups arrive at all hours. We arrived at 3:00 am and the lobby was packed with people and cigarette smoke.
The hotel, rooms are very clean and comfortable but a little noisy as you can hear your neighbors and very loud speaking people in the hall. The second time we stayed here, our room, very end unit, had no wifi signal (minus one star) The wifi in the lobby and shopping centre is strong.
Breakfast, well, not good for a Western (minus one star). We passed on the free breakfast the second stay and went to the shopping mall food court. The food there is really nice with a great selection of regional style cooking. Many soups and dishes for 15 yuan. There is also a McDonald's in the mall if you need real coffee like me.
The neighborhood is not too exciting but there is a village style community across the busy street. We found a few interesting traditional homes mixed in with the new concrete boxes. Also many little stores with cheap beer :)
This hotel is better than the average China hotel but too far to explore Kunming centre.
