stayed in this hotel for several days on my recent trip to Hangzhou, it was quite reasonably priced at RMB539 per night including breakfast.
the rooms as you can see on the photos are quite modern style contemporary. the bathroom is rather small, especially the shower stall. but there is also a bath tub should you wish to use it. one major gripe is that you need to turn the water on and run for quite a while before the hot water comes, i dont know why, maybe its the piping?
the bed is rather comfy, the Tv comes with a couple of foreign channels too for free. the rooms come with WIFI and LAN connection for free which is a total godsend. in this day and age, hotels without such free internet services are too backward and i would deem it poor customer service.
pretty clean rooms and be warned chamber maid service comes into the rooms quite a couple of times a day to clean up - it can be quite cumbersome if you thought they only came in the morning and you left your things lying around - but it can also be quite heartwarming as they lay the bed, put the water by your bedside (they observe which side you sleep) and also some chocolates + breakfast menu on the bed too. a nice touch being away from home.
the breakfast buffet is so-so. its so-called international, you have your croissants, breads, fruit, chinese porridge, buns, noodles, eggs etc you will be filled up, not too bad though. service staff - the chefs at breakfast at quite often black-faced and curt (when asked to make a bowl of noodles or fry an egg) but the other staff (bell boys, chamber maids etc) smile and greet you in lifts and the counter staff are ok too (normal, dont expect cheery 5 star service though).
chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor is OK too. service again so-so. nothing spectacular. but the food is OK, and prices are OK too, especially if you dont want to go out, its OK to eat there.
the hotel location is pretty convenient too. about 30min to the Hangzhou airport. you can easily take a taxi (plenty waiting outside the hotel) to the sights like West Lake or shopping districts, costs about RMB40 one way. not too expensive. but there's nothing around the direct vicinity of the hotel, 1-2 bank branches, small supermart, hair salon, eateries.. that's it. Not a bustling neighborhood though. I find the hotel quite self-sufficient though, there's also a massage service (not too expensive either, i tried the most expensive foot massage was RMB188 and it was quite relaxing, not some sleazy joint) and the swimming pool is indoor heated as well (not too big, like a 5 lane lap pool but it was nice to pop for a swim on the 5 floor after a day's outing / work)
generally an abover average hotel and stay, i would stay again.
