“Very unique atmosphere and really good food”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

I was in town on business and a group of us went for dinner a green tea and had a great time. Really good food great drinks in a garden terrace atmosphere. It was a place to see and be seen with many attractive local and visiting diners. Highly recommended when visiting Hangzhou!

“Simple, Delicious & Well Priced”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

I have visited this restaurant several times. From all the Chinese restaurants in Hangzhou this is my absolute favorite. The scenery is amazing, the restaurant itself also has a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere (not like most CHinese restaurants were staff is running around screaming at eachother).
Then the food: simply amazing. Everything is well cooked, not dripping with oil, well flavoured and serviced in an appealing why. The only comment might be, that the English on the menu is not always very clear and some dishes you'll have to guess what you are eating. Nevertheless, there are enough choice for everybody, (beef, pork, fish, veggie).
And all of this for a very good price. Best please in Hangzhou, if you have to time and chance, definitely pay a visite!

Tip: Make sure to be one time, prepare to wait for a table, getting back from the restaurant by taxi can be difficult there is a bus going though.

“new favorite HZ restaurant”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

finally a chinese restaurant you can take everybody out to (chinese friends, western friends + customers, etc.). the locals like it, the out-of-town chinese loved it even better, and for western tastebuds that also has to be one the best "chinese" restaurants in HZ (along with the restaurant in the Tea Boutique hotel, which is excellent as well)
its located a stones throw from the touristy western side of the Xihu, the countryhouse (lots of wood, very cozy) ambience there is VERY NICE as well
every single dish we had tasted great - there is one signature dish you must try there which is a ice-cream on breadcake (sorry, forgot the actuall name of the dish how its one the menu)

price for value - excellent - sumptous dinner for 6 @ 300 Rmb, do i need to say more ?

“Delicious local food, inviting atmosphere”
Reviewed 2 February 2012

After exploring the tea plantations at Dragon Well, Longjing, we had lunch at "Green Tea", a wonderful local restaurant that serves a variety of dishes aromatised with the precious crop, as well as other specialities: Green tea handmade Tofu; Green tea roast pork, chicken or fish; Bread temptation, to name but a few local dishes.

The restaurant has a bucolic, folk atmosphere. Surrounded by a small lake, it is built out of warm, light, wood. It is decorated with rustic pottery vases, freshly cut flowers and ethnic textiles and its many windows allow visitors to appreciate the views. There is an air of congenial hospitality and joy. People sharing their dishes, chatting, laughing.

‘Green Tea’ restaurant is right next to China’s biggest and best Museum of Tea, well worth a visit!

Menu from a tick-box chart in Mandarin and English, not difficult to understand even if you are only visiting China. Staff don't speak English but are extremely friendly. I know it sounds ridiculous to order 'ginger tea' in the land of Green Tea, but trust me, it is also delicious! Another unusual find: Bread Temptation - every table we saw had ordered it, it is a loaf of white bread with a scoop of ice-cream on top. It is served as a main course, not desert!!

Arrive early to avoid long queues (we got there at 11.30 am and we found a lovely, quiet spot straight away)
