“Very comfortable and close to the parks and shopping”
Reviewed 5 April 2011

I stayed one night with a tour group in March 2011. The hotel is quite new and the rooms were very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The hotel is located just across the road from a park and a shopping center (the park is on the roof of the shopping center so you have to go down stairs to get to the shopping area). At night there are lights along the canal and activities in the park.

Nice hotel with Good rooms. Internet was free in the rooms but was very flaky. The bathrooms very very good but the door did not have a latch!!. The breakfats was setup in a restaurant that was converted to accomadate the Breakfast crowd. Very poorly done with no basic amenities provided on the table

They tell me that this hotel is supposed to be the second-newest in all of Hangzhou, and it is probably the newest. It is situated near a city-square of museums and gardens, and you can take the boat (public transportation) down the river to the downtown core in order to avoid traffic -- just use your metro card to "swipe in" on the boat.

The hotel itself is nice – the lobby is grand and the rooms are dark-coloured in décor but well-maintained and clean. I think that all rooms all allow smoking, which is certainly a downside, and the lobby fills up with men who smoke, so there is no escape from the strong stink of cigarettes. I asked for a non-smoking room, but I don't think they genuinely exist.

The bed was firm and comfortable and the sheets are the white duvet covers that can be washed for each person. The pillows were fluffy and comfortable. For China, the room is also quite large.

The bathroom was a good size and had a separate glassed-in area for the toilet and had both a shower and a tub. Strangely, the hotel safe wasn't bolted down, so it's not much for storing anything in.

Breakfast is included with the room and was good with a wide selection. All tables in the dining area are made for large groups with a rotating glass centre, so lone travelers will either need to find a giant table to themselves or sit with strangers, which could be awkward.

Overall, a decent hotel. I would stay here again when returning to Hangzhou.
