It was a grand tulip festival at the park when I was there. So many people and so many flowers. The park itself is ok to check out but lack of charms compared to the West Lake not far away.

The Prince Bay Park is really something quite special--a clean, very well designed and superbly gardened part along a magnificent stretch of West Lake.

I walked through the Park from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning and had a walking and nature experience as good as any I have had in Europe or Japan, and better than almost any one elsewhere in Asia (including other Chinese cities).

This is a "must do" if you have the time (e.g., before a conference) in Hangzhou. Be sure to take a good camera with you!

you will be lost in a different world here during spring time. without the chatter of the large hordes of chinese tourists, you may wonder, am I in holland? am i in europe? the landscape is filled with flowers and greenery. if you like nature and parks, you would enjoy a stroll in this park which is filled with colors and flowers during spring. summer time is quite hot in Hangzhou, so I would recommend spring time to visit to flowers and enjoy the scenery. its a large park, so wear your walking shoes, bring along some snacks and drinks, stroll through the park, rest & relax for some picnic while taking in the lovely scenery. its very crowded during weekends and holidays so if you can try to go during the weekday or off peak times! food or drinks there are quite pricey, so bring some along with you!

Unexpected such beautiful blossoms of various kind of flower in this park. This park is quite big and you need to take at least half day to visit every part of it. You can find blossom of sakura, tulip & others....... Also, the location is very convenient & just next to West Lake. Don't miss it if you visit West Lake in future.

The place is beautiful in all seasons! Granted!

MAJOR TIP!!!: As you find your way to the section of the park adjoining the hill, where there is also a waterfall I believe (runs dry mostly during summers), find a trail to climb the adjoining hill. The best views of the city can be seen from up there!! The trek is pretty easy and can be done by most people in under an hour. Steps have been made and there are benches to cool down on at regular intervals.

At the top, an artist has a small studio and a balcony with chairs on which you can sit around and enjoy the view. He is a nice dude who gives away free water and also sells cold water, cold drinks and some other stuff as well. Do give him some business...we definitely did!
