Just realized there are obviously more than one Grandma's in Hangzhou and at Trip advisor, the on JinCheng Road is under the name 'Waipojia' the Chinese pronunciation for Grandma's. I was supposed to review this one. So copy my review from Waipojia here.
This is the restaurant you have to go when visiting Hangzhou. The food is so excellent that you are going to be surprised by the low price. You don't need to order extra drinks if you want to save. The refillable tea is nothing like the brown coloured water you see in some Chinese restaurants.
Don't be scared away by the crowd in front of the door. The queue for tickets moves quite fast and you'll know how long before your number is called. Even if you are late for your turn you don't have to queue again. Just wait there for someone not showing up then it's your turn. A group of 2-3 people is the quickest to be served.
However, if you prefer a quiet environment and slow paced meal, a private place to chat, don't go there.
