Jimmyz Backpackers
Reviewed 13 May 2014 via mobile

Jimmyz is owned and run by Jimmy himself - he does everything including the cleaning - and you can really feel the care he puts in. Jimmy has travelled a lot himself and is also interested in the travels of those visiting his hostel. The place is spotless and the beds are comfortable. There's a nice hang out area with Japanese and Western seating. If that wasn't enough, Jimmy knows a lot about travelling in Japan and is very happy to share his knowledge with you.

A lot of what makes Jimmyz great is actually the owner, jimmy. He is a perfect mix of kind and laid back, yet professional and caring for his business. There was not a moment when he was not cleaning or organizing something. Yet he is also incredibly friendly and will always ask you about your day and give you advice on going out. There is a big kitchen, stocked with supplies. The rooms are located upstairs and have heaters in them that help keep things warm. Downstairs has a nice living room space and a traditional tatami mat area good for a few drinks. Jimmyz also gave my friend and I directions to his famous ramen shop. We were the only foreigners there, so we knew it was good. Jimmyz hostel was the best decision I made in Sapporo, I highly recommend it.

friendly vibe, good location. The owner is very very nice. Great place to stay on. My experience in Sapporo was perfect and the credit for it belongs to this place. I have nothing negative to say - I wish I'll come back.

We stayed for 3 or 4 days with Jimmy back in 2012 in the snow. He's a very friendly welcoming guy and being a small cosy hostel we made friends with other guests and all went out together. Worth a visit very good.

I spent 3 nights @ Jimmyz backpackers and absolutely loved everything there. The owner Jimmy is funny and nice, always ready to help when u need him. I was given a map when I arrived, being marked with those places I might interest, along with few restaurants that local people go. The location is great and easy to find, only around 8 minute walk from the subway station. There is a convenient store nearby which is just around the corner, so it's quite easy to buy something to eat in the early morning. The whole atmosphere is good, thus I got to meet & know new friends whom I am now still in contact with. I would recommend it to everyone coz it's a great deal for the money u pay. I felt quite welcomed during my stay there and will definitely go back again!

Jimmyz Backpackers was a wonderful place to stay, and Jimmy was very helpful and friendly, and speaks good English. Jimmy provided maps and recommended places to visit. He also willingly helped to book a taxi early in the morning (5:30AM!!!) and took the pains to send me off. The place was very clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Love how the common room had DVDs and books for entertainment! Strongly recommend this place for budget backpackers.
