Tanukikoji Shopping Street
Reviewed 24 December 2013 via mobile

my motif to go there is to dine at Ippudo Ramen shop, to me its the best Ramen tasted so far. We discovered Ippudo since 2008 at Arcade 6, if u pass arcade 5 before u cross the street to no 6. U can see it on the left side at no 6.

I was there to shop for souvenirs and chocolates. Only went to a stall at the 6th street. There are altogether 7 streets of stores that is open concept with roof shelter. The store sold chocolates and souvenir at a cheaper rate than the tourist attractions. They also gave so e discount on the final total bill. They provided carton boxes to pack your items for check in onto the plane. I guess it would be a good place to shop for cheaper stuff.

Perfect place to buy Hokkaido famous souvenirs. The streets are covered with a transparent roof to protect pedestrians from rain, it was mentioned that the roof opens up on a sunny day. Didn't not manage to experience that, as I was there in the evening. Most of the shops offcer 5-10% discount to tourist, and some shop assistance even speak Mandarin. Good selection of products from clothing to food to beauty products. There is also an undergraound mall at street 6. The undergrandmall seems endless.

We were brought here to buy chocolates and biscuits that are much, much cheaper than in the normal outlets. Green tea kit kats was only 350yen and the Shiroi Koibito biscuits were so much cheaper too. Also cheap are some Glico food stuff. Just walk around and check out the shops that has lots of tourists purchasing huge quantities. Other than that, nothing worthwhile and nothing much in this area.
