“Nice Cozy Hotel”
Reviewed 5 January 2013

For a relatively big hotel, it's quite a cozy little place. The hotel has a European theme, without the old stuffy and musty environment.

Room
Rooms are quite big (we may have been given bigger rooms) with a two-seater couch and coffee table, a writing desk and 2 beds. The linens were soft and even use memory foam pillows aside from the usual Japanese bead pillows. Temperature in the room was good, not too hot and stuffy from the heaters during winter. And windows open a bit in case it does get stuffy. The decors were quite tasteful. I love that it had 2 toilets and 1 shower, much easier during the morning when two people can get ready at the same time without having to wait for the toilet and sink. The shower was a bit small but compared to other Japanese hotels, it's bigger. We stayed here twice, once we had a small gazebo outside the room, and the other one, we had a canopy bed instead of the regular bed. I prefer the regular beds though cause the room appears bigger and more air :-) The room was clean and smelled fresh. They also had a ionizer/air cleaner machine in every room. It also had a small refrigerator.

Power Sockets
This is probably the first hotel where I had more power sockets than I needed. I had to charge my phone, my power bank, my camera, and my laptop. Usually, I have to wait to charge one after the other. They even had an extension cord on the bedside table with 3 sockets.

Hotel Grounds
The hotel has a very nice indoor winter garden with a sunroof, you can actually sit there and read a book, but most people just go and take photos :-) The elevators were old style ones which was cute and the lobby, hallways, are also decorated with quaint decors.

Location
Very convenient, it's very near the JR Sapporo Station (subway) and shopping/restaurant buildings like Daimaru, Stellar Place, Esta (popular ramen shops at the 10F), and Tokyu. 10 minute walk and you'll also reach the popular Odori Park. There is a convenience store right on the same block and a few more within 2 blocks away. The area is quiet at night which I like, but accessibility is still excellent.

Free Wifi
There's wifi at the lobby and the rooms which is very convenient. At certain times during the day, it could be a bit slow but is sufficient for checking emails

Breakfast
Breakfast came with our package, and it had good variety and includes both western and Japanese. The food was also of good quality, e.g. breads, waffles that can be heated up in the oven, eggs, sausages, rice and Japanese viands, soup, juices, milk, coffee, tea. Fresh fruit variety was limited though, included some canned fruits, but it seems to be common across Japan or at least Hokkaido, also during winter.

Room Tip: On the 5th floor, there are rooms facing a landing with a small gazebo. Although you are not able t...

This is a cute and comfortable hotel. Having two bathrooms helps a lot when you are pressed for time. It is also located near a decent shopping area - Daimaru and Tokyu...among others...

no problem with hotel. clean. a bit dark in the room. they should provide a place for your luggage...

Room Tip: Corner rooms are bigger...but the "regular rooms" are comfortable enough.

Good located, a little far from what we expected. the room is big, very comfortable, cozy & the accessories in room are fully provided. one thing is the lamp are not bright enough, hard for reading during the night, and the icebox too small and not cooling enough.

and the staffs are very friendly. very satisfied in overall

It's very nice & comfortable when living in the hotel.
The staff is very nice & helpful.
It's better to provide the WIFI service in the room, since the young people, especial the foreign tourists, use the smart phone usually. If there is no wifi service, it is not convenience.

Hope I can use the wifi service when we visit your hotel in next time.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot.

European style hotel in the heart of Sapporo. Decor in rooms was somehat elegant and larger than the business hotels I've stayed in. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel has a very nice garden in the hotel near the lobby. I have not been to this chain's other hotels, but if this is an indication of the quality, I'll look to stay in their other hotels as well. Although a biz trip, I brought the family and the 4 of us needed 2 rooms (which were side-by-side). Typical of most hotels in Japan. Most hotel rooms in Japan can only accommodate 1-2 people and the room charge is based on the number of people per room. Standard practise in Japan. Would definitely stay there again. Did not try their breakfast buffet. It's pricey. Ate breakfast at Sapporo Stn (1-2 blocks away). Would have rated the location as Excellent if it was across from the train station. When travelling alone I've always stayed at a hotel across the street from the station. A great hotel as well, but this was cheaper for the family of 4 and I was not disappointed.
