“Good location, well run, great views, very nice hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

The Rihga Royal is a tall building, with great views from the upper floors. It is across the street from the Hiroshima Museum of Art, a block away from the old Hiroshima castle (which was rebuilt after the a-bomb at the end of WWII destroyed it), and a few blocks away from the site of that August 6, 1945 atom bomb strike and the Peace Museum commemorating that event. Other locations of interest in and around Hiroshima are readily acessible by taxi or train, and there is a tram line station in the same block. The hotel is well-run and relatively commodious. There is a shopping center next door for almost anything one might want. The hotel staff is well trained, courteous and friendly. A nice place to stay while seeing Hiroshima!

Excellent staff (they were ready to help us with everything we needed, really everything! ), very nice view especially if you get a room that is from the 20th floor up, clean, close to everything you need. There is the A-bomb dome next to it and the memorial park and the museum. The food is amazing and you also have a huge shopping mall right next to the building. If you stay there you can try 2 different types of breakfast, the Japanese and the so called european but the last one includes some of the foods served in the Japanese restaurant. Not far from the hotel there are the famous Hiroshima shopping galleries which are worth seeing! Definitely going to this hotel again if in Hiroshima!

Room Tip: 20th floor and up

This hotel really does have a nice view. It is centrally located and walking distance or short taxi ride to ferry for Miyajima and the Peace Park. Hotel staff is friendly. The hotel is next to a department store and restaurants.

The hotel is right in the middle of everything in Hiroshima. The bus center and a metro stop are right next door. It is very convenient for traveling around and arriving from the Airport on shuttle bus. Hirsoshim Castle, atomic bomb site, and Hiroshima Museum are all across the street and eachis within the views of the hotel rooms depending on which side of the building you are staying. We were lucky to catch the annual summer fireworks at the bay from the hotel window! There are three breakfast options including Japanese and Western style.

Chose this hotel online based on a recommendation from friends. Was not disappointed. It is a little bit of a walk from the tramway to the hotel but if you use the underground shopping arcade you can avoid the worst of the heat of a Japanese summer. I entered the hotel through the side entrance, through the adjacent shopping area, to the grand entrance way. Reception was efficient and spoke good English, which is always a bonus in Japan. Once checked in, the porter carried my one backpack, to the room on the 22nd floor. Her English was good enough to explain the key and room operation. The room was well appointed but no coffee! The hotel is well located, close to the Peace Memorial Park and the A-Bomb Dome. Overall a very enjoyable stay and very reasonably priced for Japanese standards.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the castle would be cooler in the evenings as my room on the west side had the su...

Our room looked over the Hiroshima castle and it's grounds. We had a corner room so we also looked out towards the ADome. As we only had one night, the proximity to these two attractions plus the Peace Park and Memorial Museum made this hotel ideal as we could visit all without he need for public transport. The hotel is a 5 minute or less walk to each of these 4 attractions. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We felt tye restaurants in the hotel were expensive, however this was not an issue as this hotel has a walk through to the adjoining shopping centre. Here there were several floors of restaurants which catered for every price range and style of cooking. Overall, this was one of our favourite hotels.

We stayed in a family room for two nights. 1000 Yen from the train station in a taxi. All services at the Hotel were exemplary. The room had a small fridge and kettle for tea/coffee. Ideally situated for the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. With a JR pass we utilised the sightseeing buses to get bearings and travel to the Train station for transfer to the Mijiyama. The only drawback was that the WIFI kept cutting out and was therefore not reliable at all.
