This is worth a trip. Rope way great and we walk down to the middle station so we could walk through the gardens then caught thr rope way back. Everything was fabulous.

A short rope-way took us to the top of the hill from where we enjoyed an abundance of flowers, herbs, a rope way, cafe and enjoyable walk down hill... making for a lovely afternoon. Lots of fun photo opportunities and a stunning view looking back towards the city of Kobe and surrounding Bay.

Great ride up the mountain with the view from the top is well worth the trip and with Honey Ice Cream at the top, I am sure glad I tried the ice cream.

This was a pleasant couple of hours spent on the ropeway and walking down through the gardens to the middle stage of the ropeway. It might be more interesting when there are more plants in flower. The greenhouses are quite good and there is a little café there too.
At the top we walked along a track signposted to Mt Maya and we were very lucky enough to see what we later identified as a Japanese Weasel, sorry no photo!
We bought tickets for the Ropeway from the concierge at the Crowne Plaza for a small discount.

Only a few minutes walk from Shin-Kobe Shinkansen station, the ropeway takes you up to the garden. On your way up you could see the Nunobiki-no-Taki (Nunobiki Falls) down below, with the view of downtown Kobe down below.

Mt. Rokko is quite famous when visiting Kobe but it may take an hour or more for bus plus cablecar to go to the mountain top. Visiting the herb garden and ropeway will save you time plus enjoy the view there. The queue for the ropeway may be slightly irritable during evening hours but the view is splendid.

Walking inside the herb garden would also be enjoyable if you are gardening enthusiast.
