Came here for lunch (bit cheaper too) and enjoyed the beautiful setting, friendly staff and delicious food. Started with a cold potato and basil ice cream soup (dollop of ice cream in soup was perfect for a 30C+ day). Had wagyu and some of my gf's kobe. My first time eating this so have no comparison other than some very good British beef. They were delicious. Hard to to achieve the reputation that precedes it but it did just about.
My meal of 5 courses came to around £47. I've spent the same in London for meals of much lower quality, albeit with alcohol, in far less sublime settings.

Went to this amazing restaurant when I was on vacations in Japan with my wife. Everything was amazing and the Kobe beef is something that cannot be described unless you try it. All in all a 5 stars experience. Fully recommend

I'm personally a nobu fan and have visited many of their venues worldwide. This is one is quite unique but marvelous as NOBU is. Very different from your typical NOBU restaurant since this is more of a Tepanyaki restaurant and not a sushi one. I recommend to order a la carte, everything is superb. The Foie gras and the Japanase salad are a must!

In short: an expensive, underwhelming meal. We chose one wagyu dinner menu and one Kobe beef menu. The wagyu was ¥7,000 and the Kobe was ¥12,500. Add to this drinks and you have a very expensive evening, especially for what you get. The opening four courses were okay at best while the beef courses were what we expected, finishing with an average desert. You can get more satisfying and higher quality meals in Kyoto for much less than half the price. Sure, go if it is important for you to eat at a 'Nobu' restaurant, but if you are just after good food, don't bother.

I was there last weekend with my wife. Fortunately we where able to get a table on a short notice (same day booking) and to chose between the counter and a private room upstairs. All tables on the ground floor with the river view where fully booked! I went for the upstairs (there are two or three private rooms). So we had our own (French?) waiter.
We ordered two different menues to share and a bottle of red (a nice Malbec from Argentina, KAIKEN). This wine is good value for money.

The food overall was good but pricy! Be aware that the entrance of the restaurant is not very easy to find.
