The only advantage to this hotel is its proximity to the conference center. Otherwise, the hotel is old and way past its prime. Rooms are fine and staff were friendly but it is difficult to recommend anything about this property. It takes at least 30 minutes by subway to get to sites in Kyoto.

I think the name of this hotel says it all. We were certainly treated like royalty.
We were upgraded at the check in desk, no idea why, but we were more than willing to except the offer. Specially when we were told our key gave access to The Lounge with free drinks included.
Our room on the 8th floor was beautifully furnished, with a King size+ bed, arm chairs, a desk with all the requirements for internet access, a huge screen TV and a lighting system including ceiling, wall and low level lights and a large double wardrobe.
The bathroom included a bath AND shower with huge bath sheet size fluffy white towels and of course the latest automatic Japanese style toilet and bidet combined, with self-opening lid and which lit up at night when you entered the room.
Breakfast was a buffet style affair, suiting all nationalities, cold with fruit and cereal etc, and, hot with Full English and Full American and of course, Japanese style.
There was of course also lunch and eveing meals catered for but we cannot comment as we ate out every night to sample all of the local eating places.

Room tip: Difficult to say, all floors were extremely quite.

This hotel is directly across the street from the ICC, convenient for the conference I was attending, and had an underground passageway nearby connecting to the Kokukaisaikan subway station. The hotel itself is... odd. It is circular in shape with a central courtyard. The decor is opulent, with bright colors, and feels somewhat dated. The water pressure in the shower is impressive, but the rooms, particularly the bathrooms, need updating. There was mildew on the wallpaper in the shower. The restaurants were pretty expensive and the breakfast buffet was underwhelming.

Room tip: Ask for one closer to the elevator... some rooms are very far away.

The hotel is a 5 min walk from the subway, The rooms are very large with a hot water machine and refrigerator. The hotel was very quiet and the park around it spectacular. There is no safe in the room. This is the ideal hotel if you are going to the conference center. There are a number of very good resteraunts around the area and a really nice supermarket within 5 min walk. I would stay again.

Our room was very comfortable. The hotel is lovely as a whole. The breakfast was well presented for both Japanese & western tourists. We were limited with time for breakfast on our tour, there was a long queue. I feel they need to look at how they allow people to access the breakfast seating.
