Stayed for 2 nights in his hostel. We had a large Japanese style room, comfortable futons, a small but clean bathroom. This is budget accommodation, no room cleaning for our 2 day stay, but trash were taken out, so this is alright for us. We did not need to rent towels, as they provide basic towels in 2 sizes per person. There is no fridge inside the room, but the is a fridge in the 3rd floor where our room was located. There is a common area for hostel guests where you can have coffee. There is no lift, but the staff will take your luggages to your room. They also allow storage during your day of check-out if you still want to have last minute things to do.
It is not really near Kyoto station as they would liek it to be, and we had a real difficult time finding it the first time, so better do a research on how to get there (in details) otherwise you might get lost like we did. So we were so tired when we got to the hotel, but Tosh was really really nice and welcoming. He allowed us to check in early so we can freshen up. Very much appreciated. There is a bus stop walking distance to the hostel though.
Other than this, we had a great stay at this hostel.
