“Nice and decent budget accommodation with really friendly and helpful staff!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Stayed for 2 nights in his hostel. We had a large Japanese style room, comfortable futons, a small but clean bathroom. This is budget accommodation, no room cleaning for our 2 day stay, but trash were taken out, so this is alright for us. We did not need to rent towels, as they provide basic towels in 2 sizes per person. There is no fridge inside the room, but the is a fridge in the 3rd floor where our room was located. There is a common area for hostel guests where you can have coffee. There is no lift, but the staff will take your luggages to your room. They also allow storage during your day of check-out if you still want to have last minute things to do.

It is not really near Kyoto station as they would liek it to be, and we had a real difficult time finding it the first time, so better do a research on how to get there (in details) otherwise you might get lost like we did. So we were so tired when we got to the hotel, but Tosh was really really nice and welcoming. He allowed us to check in early so we can freshen up. Very much appreciated. There is a bus stop walking distance to the hostel though.

Other than this, we had a great stay at this hostel.

Had a large Japanese style room with WiFi. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Liked the local information provided when checking in. Used the nearby bakery every morning for breakfast. Appreciated the email sent in advance with clear directions from the station!

My stay at the Tour Club was great! A unique atmosphere claims this hostel in Kyoto so close to the station and surrounding restaurants. Staff were super friendly and helpful, even helping me find some of the best vegan food on my trip :) would definitely stay there again :) thanks

This little hotel was great: really clean, friendly staff, fine lounge and well equipped capsule rooms. The staff really helped me many times and showed some good places to eat or to rent a bike. Really a great address for solo travelers.

This must be the only place whose website mentions weakness that don't actually exist. For example, wifi only in the common area? We had great wifi on both the 2nd & 3rd floor. Towels can be rented? Basic towels were provided free of charge and only if you wanted bigger, plusher towels did you need to pay.

The Japanese-style rooms were lovely. (We stayed in 205 and then 304.) The staff spoke English very well and were both friendly and helpful. They provided a lot of information about buses and places to eat in the neighborhood. The location was near the train station, which means access to dozens of different transportation options.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Kyoto for such reasonable rates.

Tour Club is a great place if you want cheap and Japanese. Of course, this means the rooms are small. The location is excellent being close to Kyoto Station and it's very clean. Great for backpackers and other tourists.
