The pace in the lobby is frenetic, but the staff cope well and are courteous and efficient.
Had a room on floor 9 at front, but rail and road did not disturb us. Yes , beds are hard and bathroom a small capsule conversion, but we were quite happy. Free wifi, excellent. However, what modern hotel offers only 1 English language TV channel (CNN) these days???
Breakfast buffet OK.
You are a bit away from the city centre here, but the AEON mall around the corner, has all your daily needs.

If you are visiting Kyoto by train, this hotel is in the perfect location. It is located right in front the JR Kyoto station. It has two main restaurants that offer an a la carte menu as well as breakfast and lunch buffet. And if you want to book a guided tour around Kyoto they can help you arrange it departing and also coming back to the hotel. There're also lots of stores and restaurants near by. The rooms are okay, nothing special...

We booked this hotel for a three night stay in kyoto. The staff were welcoming but it went downhill from there. The room we had was in the old sections the hotel. We were independent travellers and the hotel was filled with bus tourists.
Our room was small with no couch, old narrow beds with old bed covers. The bathroom was dingy and small with shower over the bath.
Tips for this hotel would be to request a room on the premier floors. Also bring your own coffee and black tea as only Japanese and green tea available. You can get buy all you need across the road at kyoto station.

Stayed one night as part of a tour to Kyoto. Perfectly adequate hotel, beds firm but Ok, pillows hard, but there were 2 soft ones in the wardrobe. Bathrooms small, but perfectly formed! All amenities provided, shampoo, cotton wool, toothbrush etc if needed. despite being opposite station, absolutely no noise with the windows closed.
Breakfast chaotic but again perfectly adequate. Most people all leaving at the same time for tours, so understandably breakfast and reception all busy at the peak times.
Little character, and certainly no sense of being a valued guest - too used to Hilton hotels where we have diamond membership so always feel welcomed and valued. Would probably stay somewhere better is staying for more than 2 nights, but for a short stay, especially if arriving by train, can't fault it too much.

Recently stayed here for two nights. The hotel is conveniently located across the road from Kyoto station. The room was unacceptable for the price paid with very tired furnishings, no safe and a basic "pod" bathroom. The hotel was very busy with constant queues at reception. It seems that part of the hotel has been modernised, but the price charged for this room in the older part of the hotel was far too high for the standard of accommodation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the refurbished part of the hotel - if none available, stay elsewhere

Stayed here 3 nights...horrible sleep, noisy, the beds feel like sleeping on plywood, old decor, no in room safe. The only thing it has going is that it is by the train so it easy access to everything and the staff are nice. I would not stay here again!

Quite nice location in front of JR Kyoto station. We can say this is especially for customer who uses Shinkansen or airport express bases from both Osaka Itami Airport and Kansai International Airport.
Room facility is enough equipped for tourist or business travelers.

Room Tip: My recommendation is to book rooms in "South Wing".
