nice and close to the Gion District, the intersection is frequented by buses going to various tourist destinations (just use google maps)
The nearest train station is on a private line so if you're arriving from Kyoto Station you'll need the transfer ticket. I'd recommend just getting a taxi for 1000 Yen, please save yourself the trouble, unless you're solo with minimal luggage, then take the bus.
Firstly, get a room furthest away from the street as possible as it gets so noisy it'll wake you up in a fright. You'd think the windows were open it was so noisy. The bathroom was tiny, rather comical but clean.
If you're used to sleeping on a foam matt on a hard floor then the bed won't seem so bad, otherwise it'll be like a rock. I love a firm mattress, but this was terrible. On the plus side, we could have drinks on the bed without them spilling.
Friendly english speaking receptionists, free wifi and self serve laundry made up for the noise and horrible mattress.
