Kyoto Tower Annex was the first property we stayed in during our trip to Japan.
Our first impressions were good..a very friendly welcome with the staff speaking reasonably good English & a nice, well presented foyer.
As we expected, the room itself was quite small although we did need the rollaway bed so this made the problem even more apparent. The room was well maintained, clean & had a simple, slightly dated decor. There was basic tea making facilities, good quality bathroom products and linen & internet access if requested.
The bathroom was probably the biggest surprise...small is being generous! It is very similar to a prefabricated cruise ship bathroom, only even smaller. For three adults this was a challenge when it came time for dressing, but not impossible.
The position of the hotel, once we found it (after asking directions at the associated Kyoto Tower Hotel) was quite good..easy walking distance to the Kyoto JR Station & to the nearby hotels that organised tours were collected from.
We decided to use the onsite restaurant for breakfast as they offered a western alternative...not a huge selection for 1800yen but an easy way to start a full day of sightseeing.
On checkout, the staff willingly held our luggage for us until later in the day & helped us with directions & maps whenever requested.
This hotel turned out to be the most expensive of all those we stayed in during our trip ( though probably the most modest of them all) but Kyoto has a shortage of western style accommodation so this does reflect in the rates charged.
Overall we were happy with our two night stay at this property & would probably recommend it to friends if asked.

We stayed for 1 night, because our other hotel did not have vacancy 1 night before the Gion Matsuri festival. Good standard hotel, room was even equipped with a tiny sofa and coffee table, free WIFI. Choose this hotel because of the good rate, location (2 blocks from Kyoto station) and free tickets to the Kyoto tower.

This is a great hotel. The staff were great. It was a tidy hotel centrally located in Kyoto. The rooms are great, modern styled. Good couple or family hotel.

Stayed for 1 night. Should have stayed another night in view of the late arrival from Tokyo. Nevertheless, was given a complimentary pass to visit the Kyoto Tower. Saved 700Yen that way. Good price since its a 5 min walk from the Hiroshima JR station. Lots of shopping mall and convenience store nearby. Booked a double room but was allocated the twin room. Realised that it could accommodate 3 persons in it as there's a sofa bed in the room. Toilet was generally small and those with heights exceeding 1.8m may have limited room to move in the toilet. Overall, good and comfortable stay.

it's nothing fancy but not too shabby either.... the price is fairly reasonable for being so close to kyoto station (less than a 2 or 3-minute walk) and it's pretty quiet other than being able to hear people getting into their rooms. i got a single for 5000 yen and ended up getting a twin room which made me pretty happy. it's also a mere 30 seconds away from the nearest convenient store. standard bathroom amenities included, plus you get a free ticket to go up kyoto tower nearby for a view of kyoto!

tv is a small flat screen with few channels-no English i think. the room/bathroom is not huge and there were many stains on the carpet in the room i stayed at.... but other than that, it's decent and clean. i would recommend it if you don't want to spend too much on your stay but want to be near the station/subway/bus stops with all the standard stuff - it's definitely very convenient and well-priced for the prime location.
