Perfect and affordable mid luxury hotel

2nd time back at Almont and the hospitality and rooms are as fine as always.
Hotel is a small distance from kyoto station Hachijo dori exit, about a 7 mins walk.
Rooms are spacious and toilet is of good size.
The onsen is very clean and neat, perfect for relaxing after a cold and tired day outside.

Spacious and comfortably super clean. Location is walking distance to the train station.
The Almont is very modern and contemporary with a traditional Japanese vibe and feeling. The rooms provide yukata or jinbei (traditional Japanese robe to be worn in the hotel room or at the onsen - bath area.

Laundry machines are super high tech and operate both as a washer and dryer. Detergent is automatically included in the wash.

Uses only 100 yen coins - see front desk for change.
largest capacity by weight costs 500 yen.
Note: one has to enter a personal code when you activate the machine to insure no other guests open the machine when finished.

The cycle takes 2 hours total time. So plan your laundry. There are 2 machines in both locker rooms.

The highlight for many guests to select the Almost is to use the "ONSEN" the traditional common bath. Located on the 2nd floor with separate rooms for Men and Women including children - family affair.

Unfortunately, any guests who have tattoos are prohibited from using the "ONSEN'"
Traditionally, one showers and cleans oneself before entering the water.
Using the Onsen, requires one to Disrobe and access the shower and onsen wearing no clothing articles.

The experience is equal to using a spa and feeling calm and refreshed after soaking in the mineral water of the Onsen.

Ask the staff , if you require a larger size of mens' yukata or jinbei (size LL)

Also, the lobby area has free computer access and leisure reading library to use. Many books and guides for visitors.

I recommend the guidelines for ONSEN access for Non-Japanese visitors with tattoos to have access to the Onsen while still being respectful and honoring a Japanese tradition and practice.

As all hotels in Japan, it is clean, provides good service and good facilities. I selected a good sized room, so that was not a problem.
The staff spoke English.
The nice surprise was that it was closer to the Kyoto train station than I understood from Booking.com.
You exit the station on the South side an go left / East. Follow the Main Street, paralleling the tracks. After the Dewa hotel, turn right also on a main street. Altogether, pulling a trolley, less than 10 minutes walk, on excellent pavement.
Note: my application led me thru smaller streets. Easier to follow the main streets.

We stayed in a triple room with three big beds. Quite a spacious and clean room. Buffet breakfast is good. Check in was fast. Hotel location is a 5min walk from Kyoto station. Clean and comfortable hotel with very courteous staff. Definitely recommended.

This hotel is not a large hotel, but it had a lot amenities. It had laundry, and a public bath house on one of the floors. Unfortunately, I have a couple of tattoos, and that is not allowed in a public bath. I totally respect that.

The rooms came with slippers, and lounge wear to use while staying...in case you would want to go to the bath house. They had attraction information as well as a little reading area with books for all ages. I really liked that touch.

The hotel was clean, and the service was excellent. It is also located near the Kyoto train station...which made getting around quite easy.

We had booked well in advance and got an excellent rate for a room with Triple occupancy. Well appointed, clean, with prompt service, the Almont is located within walking distance of the Kyoto train/bus station. There are shops, restaurants and convenience stores close by. All in all a hotel worth coming back to.
