Great stay, good location, very nice rooms. I think they have the nicest decorate elevators I've ever seen.

We booked 4 months in advance on Expedia ( $110 CAD for a room with a queen bed, the Superior Double) and found it was a much better rate than booking online with the hotel itself.

The staff at the hotel was great to help us see if we could get tickets for a performance. They offered to make a phone call for us. All interactions with the front desk staff was very good.

We had breakfast at the hotel once, I would recommend passing on it because of the price unless you wanted a change from the options nearby like we did. If I recall, we paid 2100 yen per person the night before by buying tickets from the check in desk. The Starbucks nearby has some breakfast options, as well as the coffee shop across the street from Starbucks, for both turn left when you exit the hotel. There is also a McDonald’s down the street, turn right when you exit the hotel.

The pajamas to use while you are there are made of very nice soft cotton. I was tempted to buy a set.

Very helpful english speaking staff. Rooms a bit small, however we had one of the largest bed I ever saw. Great location, only minutes from subway and bus station...across the street. By taxi it's about $13 to Kyoto Station. Ask for restaurant map at front desk. We had dinner at Enclave Restaurant inside Hotel...one of the BEST meals in Japan with OUTSTANDING service.
There are several coffeshops nearby for breakfast. We loved staying at this hotel in Kyoto

Room Tip: Great rates for this hotel can be found on hotels.com

Centrally located and very convenient. Rooms are on the small side but not uncomfortably so. They are also well equipped, super clean and very nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help with anythin.

The hotel is easy to go from subway station. Convenient store and supermarket are about 5 minutes walk. I had a triple room. The room size is OK for me with such a good price. The bed are comfortable for me but it would be better if extra pillow was in the room. However, the air conditioner was not well function at night time. My friend was woke up because of the temperature.

Nice sized rooms, great service, and the Monterey's multiple day discount makes this hotel a deal in a place where you'll want to spend 4+ days. Close to transportation and an easy walk to restaurants that belie the idea that it is always expensive to eat out in Japan. Eschew the hotel buffet and eat breakfast at Cafe Paul.Tired of Japanese food, eat dinner at Tatos (Spanish) or the vegetarian restaurant with young folks (M something)
