“Very conveniently located. Thoughtful for single girls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

Attracted to me is their single girls' floor, which made me feel very safe to travel alone.
Also it is very conveniently located, just 5 minutes to the train station and a very popular shopping district, Shinsaibashi.
Highlight recommended for single girls.

This is a cozy, cute hotel very close to Shinsaibashi station and shopping area.
Walking distance to Dotonbori area as well.
Room was rather cramped with not much of an outside view, it was reasonably clean considering the sensible price I've paid.
The system you have to check the room key in to the front when going out, in addition to the fact they're still using the traditional key, not a card key, was little weird, but everything else was quite alright with friendly staffs.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend for the spring break holiday on March. The room came out to around 12,500 per person for three nights, which was an awesome steal for budget travels. Especially being in the center of Shinsaibashi.

Hotel itself is your basic Japanese hotel, though it is a bit dated, such as keys being the old school ones, which causes for some slight inconveniences when you wanna travel by yourself and do your own thing for an hour or two.

Our room had more of a business hotel feel to it. Barebones minimums which would probably explain the price. But the view of Amemura and its quirky buildings made up for the otherwise lackluster room. I wish there was a little bit more to the room, perhaps coffee or tea? Which is found in every other hotel.

Another plus, and this being more of a personal one, is that the hotel is located in front of the Johnny's store, a small shop that sells pictures of Japanese male idols. Being so close to the store enabled me and my friend to shop with ease.

The only incident we had was that the air conditioner broke. The staff really didn't know what to do. So we were without AC for three days. They only gave a breakfast vochure for the inconvenience but I think they should have just moved our rooms. The handling of this situation is why this hotel is getting this rating.

If I had to rank the hotels I go to this hotel would be ranked:

1. The B Akasaka
2. Shinagawa Prince
3. New Osaka Hotel/Keiou Plaza Hotel
4. Toyoko Inn

TLDR
+great location
+friendly staff
+decent prices

-mishandling of incident
-a bit too dated

Hotel New Osaka Shinsaibashi located near Shopping Arcade and Shinsaibashi station exit no.7 and 8.

The staff are friendly and try to answer question the best they can despite the english language barrier.

There is 711, Lawson and Family Mart around the Hotel to get your food or other needs.

Each floor have its own vending machine to buy beverage.

Overall is a pleasant stays.

Considering what we paid for the hotel it is a little gem. A very short walk to tourist central of dotonobori and Namba (jr) but there is great little restaurants etc. on all four sides of the hotel that have that cosy feel. Only 1 block from the subway so easy access to all Osaka had to offer. Rooms were very clean and serviced daily. Good size for Japan. Hotel brekky was good; however, with so much choice around, would suggest to try other options too. Would happily stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights at New Osaka Hotel Shinsaibashi, convenient location which only less that 5 mins to Shinsaibashi station, or you can only during walking distance to the famous shopping area at Dotonburi and shainsaibashi shopping area.Hotel located just behind of Hotel Nikko. Room spacious but is seem abit "oldish" but still satisfied the clean. The hotel will give for free drink at their restaurant but you need to pay extra 500 yen snack! Hotel is excluded with breakfast and you will have option to pay extra fees if you looking to have a breakfast at their restaurant, you may advise to having the breakfast at the nearest restaurant surrounding the hotel. The hotel will request you passing the room keys once you going out, so I may advise don't leave any valuable item inside the room because the room is without safety box too. The room is not so good for soundproofed, so if anyone are staying beside your room and back during mid-night, then will be suddenly awake due to the noisy.Anywhere For my experience at Osaka and Tokyo,Osaka foods and accommodation are cheaper that Tokyo around 40-50%.

We booked 3 twin rooms for 3 nights. The hotel itself is located on a quiet street and is a 3 minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station, just behind Hotel Nikko. The staff was courteous and efficient. The rooms were small, but very clean. There is a mini fridge, hairdryer and the usual bathroom amenities. There is also wired internet in the room.
With regard to location, America Mura, Dotonburi and Shainsaibashi Shopping Arcade are all within walking distance. There is a Lawson's convenience store just around the corner and Family Mart and a 24 hour McDonald's are 2-3 short blocks away.
Overall, the hotel was perfectly suited for our needs and would definitely stay there again.
Tip: Ask for the hotel's business card if you plan to take taxis and be sure to pick up a free copy of the Osaka map in the lobby. The map is very detailed and was of tremendous help to us.
