“no sun plaza”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

this hotel (read appartment block) has to have been the worst place i have stayed in in 10 years of travelling.
the rooms stank of fresh paint with the walls yellowed from years of smoking within the rooms combined with a poor ventilation system.
the internet which they said was "really fast" was only fast at mid day when everyone who lived there was at work.
as well as the smell of raw fish and stale smoke and paint. the place was shady. shady as in taking all your valuables out each day due to the constant fear that someone would some how manage to steal your things.

the showers on the first floor were amazing however they had no towels.
the area is supposedly one of the poorest in japan, however it was rather lovely and quiet convenient to get to local hot spots.
however this does not redeem it.

we thought about leaving but toughed it out..... never again.

Room Tip: womens only floor is probably your best bet.

They didn't clean the beds. Hair and blood/dirt on the sheets. All day and night a lot of noise of workers. They also live there. Cold and nasty. We left the hotel. They didn't want to give the money back.

More like an apartment block than a hotel.
Room was ok but the bathroom/toilet was grim.
The 'kitchen' was just stove next to the sink in the bathroom (ie same room as the toilet).

Staff were a little strange and when I asked if they had a safety deposit box they told me they didn't and that I should valuables with me at all times as theft is common (?!).

It was my last week in Japan and I didn't want to be in such a place so forfeited the cost of one night and went to Americamura and stayed in a great hostel there instead.

The location was kinda cool and not like anywhere else I'd seen in Japan.
Reminded me more of Kuala Lumpur than anywhere else.

This hostel was dirt cheap so we weren't expecting much. It was a basic room with pretty thin futons, but for 1400yen per night it was fine! Good location too, one minute from the subway and the staff were pretty helpful.
The shared toilet/sink area on our floor was a bit scummy, but the shower room was fine, and the female only stall was a bonus.
A few pretty dodgy guests lurked around, but that's to be expected staying in Shinsekai!
Cheap accommodation, good for travellers on a budget.

We stayed there just one night - the name sounds so cool but reality is different. Hotel (I don´t know why they call themselves as hotel) is in south of the Osaka, just one minute from metro station. Staff was quiet rude and the other people in the hotel were really weird.

My friend went to bathroom, she left her cosmetic bag on the shelf while se was in toilet and in one minute someone stole it. Then she asked the staff for toothbrush and they wanted her to pay for it (even though she explained what happened). The room was not that bad and shared bathroom was actually very clean.

Then, they told us that the check-out is at 9am... it was 9:03 and the member of stuff were already knocking on our door in a very rude manner.

After all, we enjoyed our stay in Osaka even though the accomodation was not perfect.
