Small but comfortable rooms and great onsen which is included with the room rate. Very reasonable price per night. The breakfast was mostly Japanese-style, however there was some bread/toast. Friendly staff.

Room Tip: Twin beds are larger than semi-double.

Good:
-I was impressed that despite the hotel's ordinary exteriors,
the high quality of ONSEN & the variety it offered in the form of cold & hot springs,
was far superior than the outside ONSENS.

-I was surprised this hotel catered to local Japanese men as well,
because during my check-in, many local men also checked in as well.
-Good location.

Bad:
-Staff at reception speak limited English.
-In the room, there are no TV channels in English.
-I could not find my way from the JR train station, walking to the hotel, I needed to ask around for directions :(

We wanted a hotel near the city area but it is quite expensive, if not it is fully booked. I saw that this hotel was chosen as "tripadvisor traveller's choice bargain category" and upon checking it really fitted our budget and the big plus is the Onsen that comes with the hotel.

The hotel is a bit far from where all the action is taking place, "Awaza" is the nearest train station to the hotel. You need to take the subway to Namba which is actually a quick travel of 3 or 2 stations, merely 10 minutes travel to where Dotonbori and Shinshibashi is located. There are a few good eats along the way from Awaza station to the hotel such as sushi bars, burgers and steaks, convenience stores, economiyaki stall, Tori-Q pubs etc. We only tried the buffet breakfast at the hotel once and it is nice and delicious thinking that most of them are japanese food... I love the beef with tomato sauce... miso soup and the cold soba noodles.

The room is really small but for a traveller who would only stay in the hotel for sleeping and freshening up, this hotel is ok. The double bed can accommodate to sleep 2 small to mid sized persons but not those who is on the bigger sizes. Internet connection is free but you need to connect using a lan provided cable. Even the toilet is small and a bit cramped up, I am a small guy but I feel that I need a bit bigger space for my routines. The water closet is equipped with "self cleaning seat machine" just press on the necessary buttons and let the toilet seat clean you up :)

Onsen was a big plus, having a trip to Japan will never be complete without experiencing waters from natural springs. It was a new experience for us and it really is of great help in soothing your body and feet after a full day of walking around the city.

Overall, the Hotel is clean and reasonably priced. Onsen is a plus. Not that far but not near to the city area. I would highly recommend to those on tight budget who wants to experience Onsen altogether.

The staffs were helpful, cheerful and courteous. Don't forget to exchange unused toothbrush and toothpaste for sweet treats before leaving the hotel.

Room Tip: If you want wifi access ask for 5th floor going down :)

In terms of cleanliness this hotel could not be faulted. Price was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms small by western standards and two large adults in the double bed up against a wall was a bit tight. Reasonably close to trains, but a lot of steps to negotiate which can be tricky with heavy bags. Some good eating available around the hotel. Wi Fi was only any good in the reception area downstairs. But all in all a good value hotel. The onsen is a bonus

Room Tip: Book the biggest they have if you are over about 5' 8" tall

We dont have fond memories of this hotel unfortunately. Whilst Japanese hotel rooms are small, this was BYFAR the smallest we had throughout our Japan trip. We booked a 'Double room with Sofa Bed' thinking if it can fit a sofa bed, it must have a bit more room. Turns out the "sofa bed" is just a single bunk above the double bed. The window is obscure so you cant see out and it only opens about 100mm. The room was so claustrophobic (sp?) we dreaded going back to the hotel. The area is OK, very quiet though and approx a 5 minute walk from Awaza station.
On the positive, friendly staff although very limited english and no wifi in the room, just the Lobby. I think you can find better for the price you pay here.
