“Better than the castle!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

It's a common trope here in Osaka, the park is far better than the castle it surrounds.
A great place to go for a walk or a picnic, this place should not be rushed through on the way to the castle. On second thought, rush though and then rush back.

Not to mention the moat!
Does your park have a moat? I thought not.

“Beautiful Park & Castle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

The castle itself is beautiful but appreciation of it is complemented by the surrounding well maintained park. It is a large park that it is recommended that you spend at least half a day here. It can be reached via the Osaka Loop Line train and stopping at either Morinomiya or Osakajokoen stations.

“Lovely park with lots of walking time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013

Osaka Castle is an easy walk from the train station if you're in reasonable shape. Once on the castle's first floor, you can take the stairs to view each floor's historical showcase or take the elevator directly from the first floor to the top floor. I chose to see each floor and this added up to a lot of walking! Plus, most, if not all the exhibits had no English translations. I would still recommend to see each floor, but know that if you don't read Japanese, must of the exhibits are a quick walk-by. As for the park itself...it was absolutely gorgeous. The trees had vibrant yellows, reds, and greens. I saw many artists scattered around the park capturing them on canvas.

“A good place for picture”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

It will be nice to just go there and take pictures. It is okay to miss the museum unless you would like to see the artifacts. I pretty like the park.

“Nice contrast to the city skyline.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

beautiful parks to have a leisurly walk towards the castle. a few steps to contend with but nothing too difficult. best when weather is sunny and cool temps. i was there in Nov which is great with the fall colors. would be just as nice during sakura season.
