“One min to subway!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2013

We visited Kyoto and Osaka because of Kyoto Marathon 2013. We chose to stay in Best Western Hotel in both Kyoto and Osaka cities.

The location of Osaka hotel is very convenient to train station (subway) in one min walking distance! Also the room is clean. The front desk can speak okay English. The hotel is located in a quiet place although this area is famous for night life with lots of night clubs. It takes around 7-10 min walks to reach the main shopping centers, food stores, or even those night clubs which is acceptable.

Our room rate doesn't include breakfast. So except the room, we didn't use anything. Location is good and quiet. Room is clean. Staff is just okay. It was a not-bad-not-good choice for staying two nights here.

Very convenient and easy access from Nagarohoribash subway station. But if you have luggage do not take exit 5A, although it comes out closest to the hotel, there are no escalators, but steps. Instead take exit 1, using the escalator to the top and just cross the road in front of the exit, and then cross again on the left. The hotel is just 20 m away on the left. Also when leaving with lots of luggage take the same crossing, but this time when crossing the main road, there is a road tunnel to the car park. Turn left at the tunnel road and walk about 25 m, there is an elevator. Take the elevator to B2, this will take you to the subway. To get to the airport, take the Sakaisuji line to the end. (Tengachaya station), get off the the Nankai train line is just in front of the exit. Take this airport express train to Kansai airport, about 40 mins, and cost ¥890 each.

We did a little research on a good area to stay in Osaka and found good things about Shinsaibashi. The Best Western Hotel Fino is located about 500m from a subway station and close to a shopping mall, Dontonbori and a lot of nightlife and restaurants a short walk away. The room was clean, simple and on the cheaper side of a lot of Japanese hotels. Whilst the room was small, all we really needed was a bed to sleep in and a shower as we were out all day. A great place to stay for exploring Shinsaibashi and Osaka, with most activities only a subway ride and a short walk away.

Tip - A lot of things I read said it was quite expensive to get from the airport into the city. We chose the subway option, took one line from the airport, swapped to another at another station and got off right near the hotel. It only ended up costing us about $40 for two people.

Great location and excellent value, just far enough away from shopping strip noise and bustle but nice stroll to nearby Namba and Dotonbori. Many great restaurants of varied choice nearby. I used here as my base also for travelling day trips to Hiroshima, Kobe and Kyoto and worked well as 6 stops on subway from Shin-Osaka station for Shinkansen.

Very helpful staff and fairly good command of english.

Wi-fi available in rooms.

We had a hard time locating the hotel from Nagahoribashi station when we arrived. If u have big luggages, whether from Nagohoribash or shinsaibashi station, the best exit that u could take from B1 level, look for exit 4, as you walk along the B1 shops or walkway.
At exit 4, which have lift to bring u up to ground level. Once on ground level, it only takes less then 2mins walk. You turn right n walk to next street & turn left, u can see hotel.

This hotel is the worst best western hotel I've stayed in. The staff were not polite and does not understand english well. The rooms smelled damp and old. The breakfast was so limited. The only good thing they have is the location, why not just try comfort inn only a block away.

Room Tip: they have very hard mattress
