“Excellent Break fast”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Very tasty break fast.
Staffs serve us handmade omelet made in front of us.
Location is not so convenient, but very quiet area.
You can get on the shuttle bus between Hotel and Osaka station by free.
If you have no luggage, you can walk from JR Fukushima station.
There is a station of Keihan railway company.

Our room smelled smoky and musty, even though we were in a non smoking room, and it was difficult to get rid of the smell as the window was sealed shut. From reading a number of other reviews on this hotel, I get the impression that this is a good hotel to stay in if you book as part of a conference package (in which case you get a room in the new wing of the hotel) but poor for tourists and other guests (who are given rooms in the older west wing of the building).

The staff managed to lose one of my personal belongings when they were cleaning the room. Fortunately they managed to find it again but it took two or three days of me chasing to get it back.

The hotel seems to have a good range of facilities but they tend to be rather expensive e.g. it cost £18 a day to use the swimming pool, even though this is usually free in most hotels.

The hotel's location is poor, away from any of the main tourist attractions, and there didn't seem to be any good restaraunts or shops close by. That said, there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the Osaka train station and there is a metro station directly beneath the hotel so transport isn't a problem as such, you just need to allow an extra 15 minutes or so to get anywhere.

Overall i would say that the standard of hotels in Japan is generally very high, but this hotel (supposedly a 4 star) was a real disappointment. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere!

Was like staying in a 2 star hotel, with a 5 star entrance. My room was old, and reeked of cigarette smoke throughout the 7 days I was there. management did not respond to my complaint. Other colleagues stayed in different wings of the hotel and had a completely different experience, so would recommend you do not choose the lower budget priced rooms here.

stayed here for 6 nights and was a very clean, large room (for Japan) Couldnt fault it. they have their own shuttle buses every 6 mins (!!) in to the central Osaka station and thats where lots of underground shopping arcades are. Wear comfy shoes!!There is a gourmet deli inside the front door of the hotel so you can get supplies. Also plenty of restaurants in the hotel too. Has plenty of shops underneath the hotel but they are upmarket ones. We had a pleasant stay with this hotel and would not hesitate to return.

I was surprised at the level of service at this hotel. It is catered for the higher class of society and rich business world. There is an Audi dealership right on the bottom floor along with a train station right underneath it. (Keihan line, not JR) It also has free bus service to JR Osaka station.

The main problem as most hotels are in Japan is the level of English speaking. It really depends on who you get at the checkin counter at the time to get any useful tips around the area. I speak zero Japanese. I got by quite ok here surprisingly.

If you are ok with spending and not too fussed with the dollars, try out the expensive restaurants. It is comparable to normal Australian cost of things.

Here are the pros:
- Excellent customer service (patient with me even when I can't speak Japanese)
- Hotel room is huge! (for Japanese standards)
- Bed very firm and big enough for a fat person like me
- All normal services available in the hotel. (the hotel is joined with several upper class shopping stores
- Very clean
- Super expensive but super yummy boutique cakes and chocolate shop (so worth it cos I like being fat)
- Daily newspaper in English!!! like omg... but the content is sort of dry. (You will know what I mean if you have a chance to read the English newspapers here)
- Coffee shop is worth sitting in. The view of a manmade water feather is stunning.

- Super expensive food (suggest going into city via free bus to get food)
- Super expensive stores (suggest making yourself richer)
- Wall is paper thin
- Vending machine items cost more than usual
- Vacuuming at 9am in the morning? Seriously? Some people are still sleeping. But obviously not for the rest of the working bees in Japan.
- TV channels are interesting... in Japanese. The telemarketing is most interesting... with the oooo and ah.... so cheap.... sound expressions. I find it hilarious. Oh... its a con because only has one English channel and one Chinese channel. CNN is in translation mode where the English gets drowned out by the translation.

Another tip, if you are tight on cash, you can find food about 10 minutes walk to the closest grocery store that opens till quite late. It is one of the best experiences I have had in a while. Will come back here any day.

Room Tip: Get higher floor if you are on the West Wing (cheaper room).

This is continually my favorite place to stay in Osaka as the service is continually great. It is a huge hotel with many nice amenities of having a bakery on the bottom floor and a restaurant or two (its always changing). Most hotels are much more cramped and this has all the ease of a sprawling palace a nice thing to experience in a crowded country.
From the hotel, it's hard to get really anywhere but you should consider that is HOW OSAKA IS. The city is on these rivers and so there are overpasses all over-lots of walking. This is a town where you should plan getting out to go to fun shopping spots and cab it there and at the same time book one to pick you up after a day out.
This hotel has this amazing inner lounge with a creek and rocks and these amazing purple chandeliers hanging in the 3? story high ceiling. So beautiful and chill. Make sure you enjoy this in your down time.
I can't ever recall any problems once I check in. You sort of feel floaty and serene in such a grand space. I think this is nice and rare in Japan.
It's high end but aged. (think from the '70s~ But I think it is actually younger, just the vibe is 70's).
