“'Master of the Universe' views of Osaka”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

The hotel is brand new and beautifully put together.
We stayed on the 53rd floor and the views alone were enough to dispel any other minor problems we found. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the bathroom was a delight. Lovely tub and power shower with top quality amenity supplies. One small problem was that there was limited storage space. Plenty of hanging room but not much drawer space.

Room comes with a Nespresso coffee maker for an early "hit", and with decaf for a late one. Minibar nicely stocked.

Room services were very good. No problems there.
The club lounge is very elegant and (when kids are controlled) very relaxing. The food variety on the club floor was a tad limited compared to other Marriotts in the region. The food choices seemed to rotate on a two daily basis, so it becomes a little boring when staying for longer periods. The staff in the lounge were excellent and hospitable, as one would expect.

Gym limited but sufficient for anyone with an imagination and regular exercise habits. There's no pool or spa.

Location was really good for me. Stepped off the JR Haruka train from Kansai airport at Tennoji station, and the hotel is right there next door. Tennoji is a main station in Osaka rughly an hour from Kansai airport on the express JR Haruka train.

Check-in smooth and fast. Check-out the same.

Good shopping, restaurants and attractions close by.

Ate out most of the time, so can't comment on the hotel restaurants.

I doubt anyone could stay at this hotel and dislike the hotel itself. Of course, service experiences could vary but ours was faultless.

Well done to the management and staff!

Room Tip: We had a north facing room on the 53rd floor. Terrific views by day and night.

We found this brand new hotel by chance after we have booked all our hotels for our trip to Osaka. The only hotel we can cancel and switch to this hotel without charges was Nikko Airport Osaka on our last day. But there is a problem, our flight home depart at 9 am in the morning. To our delight we realised that this hotel is link to Tennochi station which has an express 30 minutes train service to Kansai Airport. We managed to reserve this hotel during the peak early April Sakura season for a very reasonable rate of Yen22,000 per room.
Some hiccup when checking in as the staff handling us are very poor in English. We were allotted a room on the 54th floor, the highest we ever stay. The floor to ceiling window allow us to view almost the whole Osaka City. It was awesome in the evening where we have Osaka's beautiful city lights right in front of our bed.
Travelling around Osaka was a breeze with the train station right at Marriott's door step. We can even walk to Tennochi park and its zoo (worth a visit) which is just opposite the hotel. Checking out was very fast and we manage to catch the 7 am train to Kansai Airport and arrived 7.30 am to catch our flight home.

Having stayed in a couple of Marriott, this property is new and I would say this is one of the nicest and tallest Marriott I stayed in. Maybe the hotel should put more English speaking staff at the lobby to service guest. Breakfast was good. Housekeeping here is abit slow and tend to forget certain stuffs. One thing about this hotel is concierge and reservations desk is the best. They definitely know Osaka and it's hotel inside out.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after a cruise. This is a new hotel, very impressive. We received personal attention from the concierge Tomico. She made a significant effort to help us with a situation concerning an item left on a cruise and was very accommodating.

The hotel is not in the center of Osaka, but by a station that will take you anywhere. It is located on the top floors of a multi story mall. It was convenient for us as it took only 30 minutes or so on a taxi to get there.

Very nice property.

Staying for 3 nights and check in was flawless even when I arrived two hours before check in time. Regular double room is very spacious and include all amenities that a traveller required. View is spectacular from the room and access to the observatory deck is free for in-house guest. The bathroom is absolutely fabulous with deep tub and lots of space to move around. Nepresso coffee and green tea service are part of in-room amenities. Definitely one of the best Marriott establishment in Asia. Compliments to the Bell Service team - super helpful.
Only one disadvantage - no reward points for booking made via external travel service such as Booking.com. Don't understand why and can't even pay to get into executive lounge unless you book the club room.
Overall, it is still an excellent hotel and really recommend it - I am definitely coming back for Christmas !

My family of six (including an infant) stayed here for two nights at the end of March on my Marriott reward points. We had two nice rooms on the 53rd floor overlooking the city, and the view was magnificent. Everything was perfect from checking in to checking out. The crib we requested was waiting for us in one of the rooms when we arrived. Three slippers were prepared for our room--two adult sized ones for my wife and I and one kiddie sized one for my 5 year old. One morning we literally woke up above the clouds (of course, that meant a rainy and yucky day ahead, but I digress), which was something else. The rooms are not huge, but are relatively spacious by the typical standards of Japanese accommodation. That said, every detail was well thought out--down to the modern and comfortable bathroom room and the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Location right above the busy Tennoji Station makes it easy to get to/from Kansai airport and get around the city. The first 10 or so floors of the building also houses a brand new department store, if shopping is your thing. There is a taxi stop right outside the main entrance, and restaurants are plentiful around the property.

The common areas of the hotel are impeccable. I spend 50-75 nights each year in various Marriott properties around the world and this one easily stacks up as one of the best, if not the best, for the quality of its property and service. We took advantage of the Concierge Lounge each morning, and let me just say that the Lounge is the most impressive one I've seen in ANY Marriott property. Service was impeccable too. On day two, we came into the lounge for breakfast a little late and had to be seated on two separate tables to nobody's fault. Yet the waiters were apologetic throughout and moved us to a new table that accommodated the entire family as soon as it opened up. Everywhere we go, we received the warmest smiles and attention. We felt like VIP all the way even though we were just regular tourists (with two really cute kits, maybe that's the trick!)

All in all, a wonderful experience. I would not think twice about staying at this property the next time I set foot in Osaka.

This beautiful property is located across from the train station so it was easy to get there by JR west railroad from the airport. The sign on the outside of the hotel is small and the entrance is not grand, but once you enter the 19th story lobby....fancy and beautiful. Service at every level was excellent.
Our room was large by Japan standards, the bed was comfortable, they thought of every extra you might desire. Took us awhile to find the safe in the bedside table, but we eventually found it by accident. We got free observatory tickets for the next morning before it was open to the public....very nice. The view from our floor to ceiling windows was outstanding. 55th floor facing the zoo was just perfect. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We were on the 55th floor. I believe rooms started on the 38th floor of the building. No noise issue...
