“Excellent hotel with magnificent views over the bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2014

Absolutely beautiful hotel with stunning views over the bay. Rooms are large and spacious, very modern interior. The yearly dragon races were being held when we stayed there and on both evenings there were spectacular fireworks over the bay, we had the best views! The service was excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We needed cough syrup from the drugstore and they provided us with a note in Japanese explaining what we needed. Breakfast was delicious as was the food at the teppan restaurant in the hotel. The hotel was a little difficult to find as the GPS in our rental car sent us the wrong way. But we got there and had an absolutely fabulous stay.

i stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, and i must say that japan does not seize to impress. the hotel room was huge, the property, view and architecture beautiful and the staff so sweet, so sweet. i received a personalized note with a castella cake on my second night, and the staff seemed genuinely interested in my wellbeing and helping me out. moreover, nagasaki is a remarkably beautiful city and if i were to come back, i would love to stay at the garden terrace again. i wouldn't consider the fact that the hotel is a little away from the city a problem, as there is a free shuttle in the morning and at night to the station. i also ate teppanyaki at the akizuki restaurant and it was very delicious with a great view of nagasaki by night. i have absolutely no complaints and consider this among the best hotel stays i have ever had!

This is probably one of the best hotel that I've stayed in. The view is amazing. Service and amenities are top notch. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge with two double beds plus a sitting area. Your own personal bath faces the city. Coffee and tea are all quality products. The package that we booked on includes late check out, breakfast, "light" lunch (wagyu steak sandwich, king crab risotto/ pasta), drinks at the club lounge, free mini bar. You get your money's worth. Food is outstanding at all of the hotel's outlet. If you are there for a short stay, suggest you book in advance as there are limited seats available in the restaurants. We arrived in Nagasaki on a rainy day and am very glad that we chose to stay here as it totally made up for the bad weather. I dare say that it is worth visiting Nagasaki just for this hotel.

The Garden Terrace is by far the nicest hotel in Nagasaki. Its rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. It has a nice view from a hill atop the city. The service and staff are amazing, and the cuisine is outstanding--five star throughout. No other hotel in Nagasaki comes close. If you want a luxury hotel when visiting Nagasaki, look no further. The Garden Terrace is it.
