Nothing else to add from what is down below except that you don't have to go down the road and round the corner to buy a tram / street car day pass, the hotel reception do these. The hotel is convenient for hopping on and off trams to see the spots in Nagasaki. At the rail station you don't need a taxi to get to the hotel, but note if carrying a heavy bag you do have the steps at the station to the tramway to stagger down, no lift, from ground floor at the station go up a level [lift] and cross over the fly path to the tram stop and stagger down the steps to the tramway having first checked which one to go down.
Breakfast, typical Comfort Hotel in Japan, good choice of food, breakfast rubbing shoulders with Japanese business men probably on courses, mobile technicians and one or two other foreigners. Free WiFi problematic upstairs jumping between floors but solid and sound on the ground floor.
Comfort Hotels are good to give a rest from splurging out on luxury hotels out of town in Japan, where you know that luxury hotels in the towns will be astronomical in cost. Stops the partner nagging about cost...
Eating cross the way in the port area distinct lack of English translation on the menu so your on the pictures, meanwhile back at the railway station the mall has some good restaurants, look out for the Chinese one with an English menu. The Japan Bank [ex postal service] ATM machine that takes non Japan VISA and Master-card is also at the station with a collection of other machines.
