Before going to the JW Marriott we looked on the web and thought this restaurant looked lovely and were looking forward to dining there. We went in on the first day we were there to make a booking and there seemed to be a smoking odour which we were very surprised at. As we looked at the menu and before making a booking we asked the girl why there was a smoking smell and were told it was a smoking restaurant.
I went downstairs to the concierge and he confirmed it was indeed a smoking restaurant and was in fact nothing to do with the JW Marriott - apparently they rent the third floor of the Marriott therefore they have their own rules.
If, like us, you wouldn't consider going to a restaurant that allows smoking then beware. Certainly in the UK smoking isn't allowed in any restaurant although I do understand in Asia it's different, they should have partiltioned the restaurant off for smokers to sit in a separate side. Anyway, just my thoughts such a shame as its a very nice looking restaurant but no good for us.
