We were in KL recently and decided to give this place a try. By the time we reached ard 3.30pm the staff told us that buffet for lunchtime was just over... we could still however order the lauk-pauk that we want and be served as ala-carte dishes. We ordered 3 types of dishes for 6 pax (there were 8 of us). Each dish was served in two bowls which we find hard to scoop out the gravy because the meat/fish were taking so much space in not such a big bowl. we later got our bills and were shocked to find out that each plate of white rice were priced at RM3.50?! and each meat eg (daging salai) per pax was RM7 ..so utk 6 org punya makan it cost us RM42! mungkin kerana restoran ini terkenal dan masakan juga boleh tahan harga pon begitu rupa..... but still a plate of white rice at RM3.50 a plate? however if you don't mind the price, you can give it a try to taste authentic kampong dishes....

I was really torn between giving this a 2 or a 3 rating...The food was totally disappointing here, most of the food greasy, very pungently fishy (Chef - go easy on the sambal, yah?) and the flavours were quite indistinguishable between the dishes. Although it was a work lunch, I seem to recall a fortune being spent on various Malaysian drinks which were highly sugar-loaded and sickeningly sweet.
But, on the plus side, if you're a tourist, I'd say the vibe is quite cool, there is a range of Malaysian dishes you might want to try, it's quite "kampung" (village-style) without being too dirty, and the "uncles and aunties" (these words in Malaysia to refer to oldish men and women) were really sweet and smiley. I think it's probably worth a visit if you're on holiday here, as you're unlikely to replicate this experience elsewhere in the neighbourhood. Just keep your expectations moderate and you won't be disappointed.

The highlights of the menu is that the cofounder (who also is the chef) wishes to share his homemade kampung Malay food that was taught to him by his grandmother back in the days when he was a kid. I've got to be frank - the place is really one of the best to offer all the variety of Malay-styled cuisine that you can ever wish for and that would be heavenly for a food connoisseur eager to try a wide selection of the dishes Malaysia has to offer.

The quality of the food however, in my humble opinion, was average... not at all bad, but not that great either. On a positive note, it reflects the local Malaysian cuisine with a traditional and cultural feel on top of the ambiance. For those who are on a strict cholesterol free diet, your choice of food selection would be rather limited to those of the raw salads and vegetables. Some of the beverage however can be too sweet and doesn't really sit well in the tummy with the oily food. The host (Chef Ismail) however is extremely friendly, providing tips on how to eat certain local delicacies to those who are stranger to the cuisine and that cheers us up a lot!

This is a fabulous spot to try out Malaysian cuisine without spending all your money on one dish. You have the option of having the buffet or just ordering off the menu. Totally recommend the buffet - so many delicious options. My husband who isn't the biggest fan of Malaysian cuisine even enjoyed himself, helping himself to several rounds of plates!

Its a great spot for tourists as well. We had a big family get together on our last evening here and we had a ball. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to any future KL visitors :)
