“Great value!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

This place is super clean and the setting is nice, as well. I got a 3-person room and got there late, so ended up with the middle bed. The room is not that big either, so it is not that roomy. There's one bathroom/shower on each floor. I think next time, I will get a double or single room.

Very nice layout with lounge rooms, terrace and dining. Extremely clean, good breakfast with fresh fruit. Staff are helpful.
disliked the size of female dormitory, cannot picture 3 females in such a tiny space, beds almost touching and 1 power switch floor level and 1 up high!
music and fireworks at bar next door are very loud.

Great place to base yourself so that you can see what KL has to offer. So close to awesome night markets ( amazing food),shopping malls , massages and transport . The monorail is just up the road so you can walk from there to b&b ...an easy trip from airport to sentral to monorail stop:)
Also there are fab bars next door to the b&b . Not noisy at all. Best rooms are on the top floor . I felt a bit claustrophobic in the lower rooms .
Breakfast is basic but fine.
I will def stay here again .

First of all, the front desks demands you to pay in cash, at front, for the whole length of stay which I argued since I was not sure if I liked the place.

The room they gave my daughters and me was in the 4th floor, no elevator. We had to climb carrying our luggage the staircase WITH NO HELP from the staff,. THE STAIRCASE WAS VERY NARROW FITTING ONLY ONE PERSON AT A TIME WITH NO RAILS. SO if you are carrying your luggage, there is a strong likelihood you might fall. With this situation there is a high risk for FIRE HAZARD… nobody can escape or you get thrown out in case of emergency.

The room was stuffy, not lighted well you have to strain your eyes to read, aircon not cooling right away and most of all the toilets don't flush well.
No telephone in the room… so if you have problems you have to go all through the 4 flight of stairs to inform the front desk…. or shout at the top of your lungs… the toilet does not flush!

My daughters and I stayed for an hour or 2… since we debated to move out and finally decided to but had to look for another place to stay. Finally upon "checking out", they demanded for me to pay RM50 because.. well, "we lost business because of you.."

SO this place is not only a rip off, it is not safe, staff unfriendly.

Dear Moonyeen,

Thank you for your constructive feedback.

We are sorry that Rainforest B&B was unable to meet your expectations during your short stay with us. Do allow us to break down on a few matters.

Firstly, in addressing your comments on the facilities of our B&B, do understand that Rainforest B&B is designed as a boutique budget accommodation which comes to limited facilities and services. Unfortunately, this excludes internal telephone system or lifts. Any facilities that we offer are provided in our website and other booking engines as well.

The Air conditioning unit in all rooms will take some time for the temperature to reach its required level after the encoded key card is being placed. However, we do take note of your feedback.

Thirdly, we would like to clarify that we do not demand our guests to pay cash only upfront. It is our B&B's standard policy to collect full payment upon check-in via cash or credit card.

We understand that you were not happy with your room (Deluxe Triple Ensuite), however, as you have already utilized the room facilities, it was fair for us to charge you a sum of MYR 50 / USD 15.50 (room rate per night at MYR 160 / USD 50) as we would have to clean the room before allowing a new check in. We have made an exception to your case and have offered to upgrade to our Superior 4 Bed Family Room during your whole stay.

We hope to serve you better in the future should you wish to choose Rainforest B&B as your preferred accommodation.

Thank you and regards,
Management.

We stayed here as a family of four, after I stayed here as a solo traveller a few years ago. Since then, I think a karaoke bar and a nigh club have opened up next door. The first few nights were fine, but Friday and Saturday nights were diabolical. It's so loud, it feels like multiple bands/DJ's/kareoke singers are actually in your room. The kids were beside themselves and even ear plugs didn't really help. Apart from that, the rainforest is a great little place. It's very clean, the air conditioning works well, you can have your own bathroom and with a security guard downstairs you feel very safe. But the best thing about this place is its location. It is within walking distance of absolutely everything (or a very cheap cab ride away). Being in such a central location made our trip really easy. Obviously you get what you pay for, so the breakfast is basically white bread and jam, but you're in walking distance of so many restaurants, that doesn't really matter. The restaurant directly across the road looks dodgy, but it was actually pretty good. The only downsides apart from the noise were the front desk staff, who basically couldn't be bothered taking out their earplugs to speak to us and gave us several wrong directions, and the air con in the main breakfast room didn't seem to work, so it was absolutely stinking hot in there. If you're a single traveller, this is a decent option. If you're travelling with kids, just avoid staying here on weekends.

2nd time staying there, great room and staff, exactly where you want to be in KL. But wow, really was like a disco in my room till 3am. I did stay Saturday night though and probably would be a bit quieter on weekdays. Maybe good advice would be either to stay on during the week or if you plan to do a bit of partying.

I've stayed here several times now! Great value for money, everything is fresh and clean. Great service and the hostel is beautiful. The clean white sheets against the wood interior is lovely, the aircon in each room gives you the option of a chilly sleep for a change of pace in the balmy KL evenings. I always try and get a bed here, it is usually busy though, so book in advance. Be aware of the stairs though, can be a lil bit of a climb with heavy bags, but the greenery and beauty of the place is well worth it!
What i really like is the position, next door is a fantastic art cafe with hot chocolate to die for! and an amazing jazz bar next to that. There are also 24hr curry houses across the road for a cheap and tasty feed and delicious lassis

Room Tip: book early! the rooms fill up fast!
