When you first step into the Anggun it feels like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Bukit Bintang. And by and large it is. The rooms are a good size, the beds very comfortable and all amenities good. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there's a nice rooftop restaurant where breakfast is served. This is cooked fresh from a quite lengthy menu and was really good, plus they offered us a packed breakfast the day we left and it was very good too.

The location is great for easy access to Jalan Alor, a must do eating experience as well as lots of other eating and drinking options. It's also a short walk to the Bukit Bintang monorail and just along from there a new air conditioned covered walkway runs to KLCC. The only downside for us was being in a room at the front facing the street. It's very noisy and the windows aren't double glazed. We needed a room with two beds so this was our only option, but if you don't need that then ask not to be at the front.

I can highly recommend this place. It is perfectly located in the heart (but a quiet part of it) of Bukit Bintang - set in an old and nicely renovated building. At first I was a bit irritated to get a room without windows (well there were windows, but only to the hallway). But to be honest: How often do you actuall look out the window? So I didn't really care. The interior is very individual and nicely chosen. The staff was overall friendly and helpful. The beds are wonderful.

Room Tip: If you really need a window you have to book that!

I have been staying at the Anggun for years and it never fails to keep up the very high standards. Anggun is situated in Bukit Bintang an unspoilt corner of old KL, famous for Jalan Alor- the food Street. In fact there is great and cheap food everywhere in this neighbourhood. The hotel occupies a beautifully restored old courtyard building. The décor is in the Yogyakrta style even down to the period 'kunci' tiles. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff, who come from all over South and South East Asia are very obliging. I desperately needed a dentist and the night manager actually escorted me to a nearby emergency hospital. This place is so charming and well managed I never consider staying anywhere else in KL. BTW the best way to get to Bukit Bintang is to catch the airport express to KL Sentral then get a taxi.

Room Tip: even the cheapest rooms - around US$35 online are excellent. If you want a larger room then pay a...

The Anggun is everything is says on its website and more. Here 'boutique' doesn't mean 'tiny dingy rooms' as it often seems to mean elsewhere, but rather tastefully decorated, characterful and homely feeling. Really excellent value for money too!
We had the large room on the ground floor and even though we arrived at 5am we were still allowed to check-in (which was such a relief as we went straight to bed). Thank you to the receptionist that night ... don't know his name but I do know he was from Kurseong!
Rooms were highly tasteful, with wooden shutters, teak floor and a bird cage for a light shade. Also very well sound insulated, and we were never disturbed by the lift even though we were right next to it. Staff were really helpful and seemed keen for us to enjoy our stay in KL, going that extra mile to make things easier for us.
Highlight here is a breakfast on the roof. What a lovely spot and a great breakfast selection too.

Room Tip: Our room on the ground floor was silent

We had read of this hotel on Trip advisor , and reached out to them to book a room. They responded quickly and offered us a very good value rate for two nights. The room was a front facing large room, well appointed with the front facing balcony. Clean, some street noise but not too much, and fun to sit out and watch the street life. Very helpful staff - had to have my daughter send a package of things left behind, and via email they assisted her and kept us informed before it arrived. Not your standard hotel, quite atmospheric.Location is handy to street markers, and mono rail.

When we arrived at Kuala Lumpur late at night and checked into our hotel, we were dismayed to discover that it was an absolute dump, so we did some Googling and found the Anggun right around the corner.

We stumbled in there at 11pm at night, completely unexpected and exhausted. The Anggun was more than hospitable, the kind staff gave us a place to stay, and as they only had their best room left, they gave us a discount and let us stay there for the full three nights we needed. The kind concierge gave us a yummy drink, a cold towel and showed us around our room.

Our room was very clean, perfectly decorated, and very comfortable. We loved the bonus of having a computer in the room and our own internet. The bathroom was very clean and looked great.

Yes, as others have said, the hotel is a little noisy, but in our experience this was because of the location and not the hotel guests. There is a great (cheap) restaurant next door that never closes and we could hear them cooking all night long. But other than that, we were really pleased with this hotel, and are definitely planning to stay again when we next visit KL.

Absolutely perfect, comfy little boutique hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur! I will be back again and again!

The Location Bukit Bintang - awesome location right in the hustle & bustle of the busiest and most energetic district in all of KL. Anggun is situtated so perfectly and within 1-2 min walking distance of almost all the good bars, restaurants, shopping malls, etc. If you like being right where all the action is, look no further. You are smack dab in the middle of it all!

Best way to get from Airport to Anggun Boutique: It is about a 45 minute trek to the airport but super easy given Kuala Lumpur's great public transport system ( Best and most affordable way to get to the hotel: From the airport terminal, just follow the signs and hop on the KLIA Express train for 35 MYR ( only about $10 usd). It is fast, clean and modern, and take it as far as it goes from the Airport to KL Sentral Station, then from KL Sentral Station, just go to the taxi stand on the ground level, and catch a taxi for the remainder of the trip, only about 10 min drive. the taxi ride from Sentral to Anggun only cost about 7 usd.) You can also of course arrange with Anggun Boutique to send a driver to pick you up at the airport and deliver you directly to the hotel, but by taking the KLIA Express you save lots of time sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the highways, and you save a considerable amount of $$.

Rooms: Beautifully understated, comfy rooms. I've never felt so at home and comfortable in a hotel room before, it just has a very homey vibe and comfy vibe to it. Beautiful wood floors, handsome wood furniture. Super clean!! Canopy bed that was SO comfortable! I had some great sleeping here! Didn't want to get out of the bed in the morning. Bathroom was clean, great big sink, and perfect hot water pressure during my entire stay.

Breakfast: It was included in my room rate package, and I am glad it was. It was delicious!! They present to you a small menu with several different set breakfasts on it, you choose which one you want. I did the American breakfast each morning, which included fresh fruit, choice of juice, fresh black coffee, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, toast with butter and jam.

**My only suggestion is to make sure you request to be put in a room that is away from the street, to the inside of the buidling! This is a MUST. I was initially put in a room that faced the busy street below and it was entirely too loud to even sleep. As soon as I requested a quiet room to the inside of the building, the front desk manager quickly put me in one of the inside rooms, and it was perfectly silent and peaceful!

Room Tip: **Request room to the inside of the building, away from noisy street
