“quiet and clean”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Comfortable, very clean and modern. The atmosphere was excellent.
My regret was the staff was not very friendly (except the night receptionnist) and it was super difficult to talk with the guests staying there, may be just a question of bad luck?

Stayed here for 5 nights in a dorm and in a double. Both rooms were spacious and clean. The dorm room beds were bigger than your average single bunks and the lockers were massive (just need your own padlock). Each room has a sink, which is ideal. The air con in controlled by the staff in the dorm rooms and is usually off between 12 and 6pm unless you ask them to turn it on, in the double room you control the air conditioning.
Bathrooms were plenty, never had to wait to use the toilet or shower, be aware that the upstairs bathrooms are unisex but the downstairs ones are separate male and female. The staff were always seen to be cleaning and I didn't experience any particularly dreadful moments - you have to remember that some travellers are not as considerate when it comes to cleanliness and how you leave a toilet!
They provide a basic but free breakfast each morning or toast with various spreads, cereal, tea and coffee. You can also purchase drinks and snacks from them or go to LOKL which is attached to the hostel - there are convenience stores very close which are slightly cheaper and compared to places we ate in KLCC LOKL could be considered expensive so we did not eat there.
The staff were helpful, if you asked a question, even offering discounted attraction tickets. We bought tickets to the Menara tower with them and were then disappointed once we got there as 3/4 of the viewing platform was closed but we could pay more money to go up a level....we returned to the hostel and told them, they gave us a refund no problem.
Website directions were useful and good communication via email before arrival.
Excellent location for Chinatown, train station and bus stops for various KL destinations.
Thank you for the stay.

First & best hostel experience! Amazing facilities for the price per night you pay. Personal Locker is big enough to store a suitcase. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was simple but available early if you are planning a long day in Kuala Lumpur. Chilled outdoor seating area that helps to create a social atmosphere in the hostel. Air Conditioning was very strong that will require you to tell staff to increase the temperature in your room as it gets very cold at night. Location is perfect, very close to buses & trains (MRT/Tube/Subway) and restaurants. Toilets & shower facilities are clean and plentiful. Overall, a perfect experience!

Room Tip: Choose the top bed if you want a comfortable sleep especially (like myself), if you are a tall perso...

Stayed here for a few nights at the beginning and end of my trip around Malaysia and couldn't have been happier. I really couldn't believe the value! The inside of the hostel had modern decorations and was impeccably clean. The service was spot on and I felt like the employees treated me like an old friend or a family member. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm room on the second floor. The room was clean and the bunk bed included a small storage area by the head of the bed and a cabinet with a lock to store your luggage. There was a sink in the bedroom. The bathrooms and shower rooms were clean and hot water was readily available. The location was excellent. It was just a short walk to the train and to sights like the KL Tower. Have recommended BackHome to many others and will continue to do so.

Nice location. The weefee worked perfectly throughout the building. The facilities were clean and great. The AC was strong. The showers very comfortable with warm water and good pressure. The breakfast was simple but solid. The staff was friendly and helpful. Got a key for the room AND personal locker making security no issue whatsoever. Overall it was perfect.

This is by far one of the most comfortable and thought out backpackers. Backhome has succeeded in making a social atmosphere without needing a party scene, with an excellent outdoor seating area. The showers are what you dream of whilst travelling Asia, with consistent hot water and wide shower heads. Without a doubt, if you're travels pass through Kuala Lumpur, stay at Backhome.

I was blown away by BackHome!! This hostel is an oasis of calm in bustling KL.

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They answered our questions about local transport, day trips, booked dinner reservations for us, etc.

The place is very clean -- rooms, bathrooms and common areas. Excellent free wifi. Movie room with tons of choices. Free toast and coffee for breakfast. Great outdoor patio.

BackHome is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. I highly recommend staying here!
