“Clean and beautiful hotel”

The hotel was very nice and rooms are quite big, very clean, with all the facilities needed. Location is also good since it is walking distance to KL Sentral (10 min.) with small food vendors and tasty but cheap restaurants around the corner.

Stay there 4 days 3 nights with family on Hari Raya. It is a 4 star hotel and overall it is clean and comfortable. First of all, we had a last minute booking of the hotel room at a reasonable rate via venere.com. When we reach the hotel, the check in process took a long time and we wouldn't know why. However, the staffs are polite and there are welcome drink (self service). Next, the room is spacious but its a bit dark which may be because of the limited lighting. You would not wake up from coldness at night as the aircon temparature is moderate (but some may complaint its hot). International buffet breakfast is provided and it is an Okay for me. Not so big infinity swimming pool is available and the view is awesome but it depend on the weather, it is hazy sometime. Gym is also available and guest needs to wear proper attire, Sport Shoes, is a must. Parking is chargeable at RM8 per entrance. The hotel is located in the middle of the city, very near to KL sentral. It was hard for us to reach the hotel as the road is confusing. So we got loss few times. But overall it is worth the money we spent and the quality provided. Would be back to the hotel next time if the room rate maintained!

Room Tip: Opt for non-smoking room (for non-smoker) with pool view is possible.

Dear Venessa_ Teo
Appreciate your supportive comments about the hotel and that you enjoyed your stay overall. The check in process does take a little time as with some guests the registration process takes longer than others. None the less it will be discussed at the management briefing this morning
Thank you for your patronage and your promise to return soon!
Best wishes.

Room was great value and v comfortable being close to the city. The hotel is a walkable distance to the monorail with some challenges. Breakfast wasn't top quality, average and the hotel restaurant where we had dinner was quite expensive and the meal wasn't very good. Concierge with free shuttle was v good to and from central station but needs to be more frequent especially night hours.

Dear Nur
Noted on all your comments. We have a fairly wide choice of Asian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Malaysian, and European dishes available for breakfast. I shall investigate further, but the comments have been good from the majority of our guests for the period of your stay. Again none the less I shall review with the Chef and see if there is any further attributes that can be added for the price.
With very best wishes and look forward to further stays with the hotel.
Sincerely

We felt very relaxed when swimming on the 6th floor. I could see the city view from here. The room is big but not enough lights there. We lived in the twin beds room which has two 150cm wide beds. We all felt comfortable about the pillows and mattress. The buffet breakfast is not big but will make us full. Don't request too high! Only the location is inconvenience for the guests to walk to other place because of around the highway. Free Wifi works too slow.

Room Tip: You should chose the twin beds room if you have four family members or above due to each bed is 150c...

Except for the modern facilities and location (near KL central), everythings else was just bad: bad services, poor breakfast, unhelpful staff.
Oh, especially they will charge you the tax of 16% of the booking without prior notice (they said all hotels in KL are the same, but nope, some hotels they included the tax and no hidden costs), feel like I have been cheated! And for your references, I booked through booking.com

Room Tip: Remember to bargain for taxi fares, especially when the taxi drivers heard that you are staying at 4...

Dear Khan N

Regretfully, I do not think you have been cheated. When making your booking with 'Booking. Com' the reference clearly states whether taxes are included or not included. The hotel stipulates that all taxes are not included when booking the hotel directly and are subject to tax and service which adds up to 16% Some hotels make their rates net, but add in the tax and service on top of the net rate. I am sure you would have found the rates to be very reasonable for the accommodations provided. We really are sorry that you did not enjoy breakfast on the day you took it and would have liked to know the reason why. I believe again that the choices offered are numerous for the price quoted.
I do hope you will give the hotel a further chance to assist you in enjoying further stays with us!

Sincerely.

We had a 4 day stop over in KL and booked this hotel as the usual hotel we stay at was being renovated. I was initially worried as I thought it may be too far out but it turned out to be a great place to stay. The rooms were huge and clean and the pool area was fabulous with an excellent children's pool and splash area. Also, with taxis being so inexpensive in KL, getting around was not a problem. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Dear Artellphoto

We do get a lot of kudos for the guest accommodations and especially for families who wish to 'spread out' and enjoy the space. The pool remains very popular too and especially the 'kiddies pool'
Thank you for your comments which we shared with the team this morning at briefing.

I checked in on 21 July for 3 nights.

It has been a year since I was last in KL. And a year since I was last in this hotel.

As mentioned in my earlier review, there are 3 rooms on offer: Deluxe; King – 1 bedroom suite and King – 2 bedroom suite. I chose a King – 1 bedroom suite.

Amenities are great: modern shower; separate bath (note no door to bath or toilet); in room safe big enough to store a 13” Macbook Air; air cond can be set in the bedroom and the lounge room; 1 large TV in each room; kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle. Note, a kettle and sachets of instant coffee, not a coffee maker as is found in most American hotels. The Wi-Fi is very reliable!

Rooms are very well maintained and cleaned.

The hotel is new and the bed was great!

B/fast buffet costs MYR 60, including the 16% tax and service charge, making it just under USD 20. The food served is definitely 4 stars: yogurts, cheeses, pastries, flapjacks with a range of syrups and other toppings; fresh fruits; bircher muesli; cold meats (including of all things a South African favourite, Biltong); a cook making eggs to order, baked beans; grilled tomatoes; mushrooms and several Malaysian meat dishes (including beef rendang) and chicken dishes (mostly spicy). As expected , Nasi Lemak is available.

Hint to management: including some gluten free foods would be appreciated.

Getting to the hotel the airport (KLIA) is straight-forward. If there is one person traveling then take the KLIA espress train (MYR 35 and 28 min non stop) to the main train station in the city, KL Sentral. Before exiting the station buy a MYR 10 taxi coupon from the Budget Taxi counter. Walk outside the building and get into a Budget Taxi. Give the driver the coupon. The hotel is 5-7 mins away.

Note there is some walking up and down escalators at both the airport and at KL Sentral making the train quite a difficult exercise if you are senior or for that matter if you a young and have more than 2 pieces of luggage.

If there are 2 or more passengers or you are a senior then you may as well take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. This will set you back MYR 100.

The hotel is nowhere near shops or restaurants. And you cannot flag a taxi outside the front of the hotel as the hotel is off the main road. You need to call one or be lucky and catch a taxi as guests are dropped off at the hotel.

While taxis are metered, on ALL occasions when I took a taxi from or to the hotel to the shopping precincts, given it is a relatively short commute to KLCC and Bukit Bintang, (BB) the drivers refused to use the meter and told me how much they wanted to charge. Usually MYR 25 (USD 8) from KLCC to the hotel or from BB to the hotel. On one occasion the driver accidently turned the meter on and I saw it showed MYR 16 to KLCC, but I am not going to argue with her over MYR 9 (USD 3). Life is too short.

There is a monorail stop 15 mins by foot from the hotel, but the area reminds me of the mean streets of Harlem, New York after dark. It may be safe but I, in my late 40s and quite solid did not feel safe walking after dark from the monorail station. Nor did I see anyone on the streets.

For more details about shopping, Chinatown and other aspects of KL see my earlier review.

Then and now, the only negative about this hotel is that one cannot get a taxi on demand outside the hotel. One has to be called or snapped up while unloading a passenger at the hotel No big deal really.

There is a free hotel shuttle to nearby shopping malls. But you MUST book a seat on this in advance as there is just one van and seats go quickly. I suggest you book it on your arrival at the hotel for the very next morning.

For value for money last year I gave the hotel give this 4.5 out of 5. I now give it 4.75 out of 5.

I was and I remain impressed, So much so that, I booked my folks into this hotel for their upcoming visit in September.

Dear JA-Sydney

As a Sydney sider myself, I am delighted we have kept the pace as a hotel a year down the track and managed to complete the overall return experience for you directly. Taken your points on board. However walking anywhere in Sydney late at night you still have to be watchful! The shops are only five to ten minutes and the whole of the new Mall is open at Central, which has become very popular. Please do let me know your parents names and I will ensure a 'Super experience' when travelling to the hotel and staying with us in September.

Appreciate the efforts to write your report and especially the increase in points against your last visit a year ago.

With very best wishes and safe travels
