“A great budget hotel”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Although the room was a little small, it was very clean and modern. The bed was comfortable, too!
The staff were excellent: friendly and helpful. The wifi worked well.
The hotel is a little far from the downtown core, but we could still see the Petronas Towers from our window.

I've uploaded a video review of this place on YouTube: http://youtu.be/8pXMEep5Y14

We stayed here for the past few days. The negatives:
1. A bit far from the centre of town (around a 30RM taxi fare in low traffic)
2. Thin walls and noise transfers
3. Small room but you get what you pay for

The positives:
1. The price
2. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
3. There are a number of good food options nearby (Banana leaf curry, Chinese food, Warungs/hawkers) within a 5 minute walk. Just ask the reception staff for directions to the type of food you are craving.
4. Near Maluri train station, but crossing the main street a few hundred meters down is tough.
5. The community tables on the fake green grass allows for public discussions with other travellers.
6. There are 4 nightclubs about 3 minutes walk away.
7. Free internet
8. Late check-out at noon.

We took the train to Plaza Rakyat and then walked to Petaling St. Cost under 4RM and was about a 10 minute walk.

I would strongly recommend this hotel for couples who are on a budget and don't mind to walk, use public transport and be a little out of the city centre.

V Garden is not only a hip little boutique hotel but also (and which I liked the most) the place is pristine! Stayed here with my husband for around 5 days and had the best time. The staff is friendly, the room includes complimentary bottles of water (everyday), and though we booked a room with no window, the room was everything we needed. They also offer snacks, drinks and even delicious breakfast at fair prices. The only thing I'd like to point out (not that is a problem) is that you'd have to take 15-minute trains to the more popular areas (city center, bukit bintang, KL sentral, etc)
Overall, great value for your money!

From KL airport take the KL Fast train to KL CENTRAL 70 MYR or about A$25 for return. Then MYR taxi voucher at KL Central for MYR 15 got me to the V Garden which I had booked on line for About A$30 a nite for single room with ensure wifi and tv. Receptionist was very helpful. Room was clean and SECURE and shower quite modern. Hotel was also quiet. Walk to nearest underground for fares of A$1 into town. Need MYR small notes or coins for the ticket machine. Each single journey on metro or monorail about A$1 Early pick up to get back to KL Central for fast train back to airport. KL International or KL2 just opened.

Room Tip: Bring tea bags etc. Water jug and cups but nothing to make tea. Otherwise good value and not compl...

We stayed at the V Garden for just 1 night on a layover in Kuala Lumpur. The staff were very friendly and helpful although be aware to change some money before you arrive at the hotel if it's in the evening. We arrived around 9pm and couldn't change any USD or AUD at the hotel and the money changers were all closed. We ate at a delicious Malaysian restaurant just up the road. When we realised we didn't have enough MYR some lovely fellow diners changed some USD for us so we could pay for our meal. We found the locals very friendly and helpful. The room was small and simple. Very clean and the bed was super comfortable. It was a little tricky to find on arrival but well located to the train station. Highly recommend and happily stay at this budget property again should we have more than a day in KL again.

It's about 10 minutes by rail from here to city centre and a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the train station. Room was on the small side but definitely adequate. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a great Chinese restaurant across the street and to the right. A nice indian (Ss spices) a couple of blocks away. The only thing I wasn't happy about was to have to buy a tea bag from reception to use the kettle and cup supplied in the room (a bit tight?).We would most definitely stay again.

As I am sitting in the toilet now I am writing this one regarding V Garden Hotel Kuala Lumpur, arrived yesterday morning 9:45 am and of course the room wasnt ready and being clean and by 10:45 its ready and without fuss the front office let me in.......its clean and with 2 single beds for me and son.
Very friendly staff the area is a small chinese neighbourhood its NOT dodgy and lots of small retaurants (We had chicken rice there for $3 and was excellent))
Any negative thought about the rooms......well for $34 you get what you pay for at least its quite no mossie and clean......the toilet seat was loose at least they could fix this...I ll try to fix th s myself later on.
I ll stay here for 3 nights as I ll having my treatment at the hospital and checkout anf move to Traders Hotel....when I do my maths all 3 nights at V and 2 at Traders will cost me only $77 per night with ending at 5 stars. Above all a happy chippy here.

Room Tip: Taxi from here to Bukit Bintang approx 7 Ringgit or $2.30 ish and gave 10 Ringgit to driver and he w...
