“Great place for a lazy weekend breakfast or brunch”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

I was here with my partner in July, once for brunch and once for breakfast. Do reach early if you do not want to wait in line to get a table. We reached about 10:30am and waited bout 30 to 45 mins for a table. On our next visit, we reach about 9 something and was swiftly sitted to our table without any waiting.

Tried calling to make reservations, but was informed that they do not take reservations for weekends.

On our two visits, we had tried their signature baked eggs, eggs benedict, big breakfast set and Joh's burger. The baked eggs is a basically eggs baked with sausages (beef, chicken, lamb), topped with cheese in tomato sauce, served with few pieces of Sourdough bread, which goes really well with the sauce. The portion may look small, but it is actually very filling. As for the eggs benedict, we tried the one that has smoked salmon, mushroom and spinash. They used to served them on English muffin, but had since changed it to another type of bread (I'm not sure what is it called). But rest assured that the dish still taste good, as the bread was soft and fluffy and soaked up the yolk from the egg very well. Their Hollandaise sauce was interestingly tangy.

For the big breakfast, it came with a choice of eggs (scrambled/sunny side up/poached), sausages (chicken/beef), hash brown, sauteed mushroom, sauted vegetables, sourdough bread. It like any of the breakfast set you get in any typical cafe/brunch place. But everything on the plate taste good. The Joh's burger is served with a thick juicy beef patty, with a bed of lettuce and tomato, on crispy burger bun. Oh, not forgetting the stripes of beef bacons. The burger is one of the better ones that we had in town for a long time. The burger was served with crispy thick cut fries which we loved so much.

Beverage wise, my partner always love to order caffe latte, which is comparable to the one at Artisan (Bangsar Village II). Non coffee lovers should try their homemade lemonade, just the right amount of sweetness, a great thrist quencher.

Service was good and efficient.

“Great Food”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

I love this place and take people here every time we have visitors. The restaurant has great food at very reasonable prices. it does get busy on the weekends typically so be prepared to wait on occasion but know it is worth it.

“Coffee great, Baked eggs delish, lamb shakshuka average”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

Arrived at 9:45am on Sunday and got the last table - luckily, because after that the wait for a table became ridiculous - 30mins to 45mins.
Ordered cappucino, latte, lamb shakshuka & baked eggs. Baked eggs were delicious, so flavourful - lamb shakshuka sauce was watery, but a decent portion of lamb. I'd go for the burger next time or the Atlantic. Coffee was perfect. Only downer was the time waiting for the food - tables which ordered after us were served first. Oh fresh squeezed juices were nice too.

“Yummy breakfast”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

We had breakfast here .. Portions were large .food was really good ... Just wished that they did not use the ayamas sausages ... The banana bread was yummy . Coffee was a bit cold by the time they served it ..
They do not accept reservations so the waiting list is pretty long .. Be prepared to wait around 30 mins to get a table
Prices are pretty ok ...

“Not the best coffee but great desserts! ”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

Went on Saturday approx 8.30 pm. Full on the inside but got a few tables outside. Requested to move inside once there are space but had to wait for a couple of minute. The waiter seems to be very nice and welcoming, and don't mind to change our place. :)

Since I already had my dinner, ordered coffee and some desserts. Cappuccino is okey, not the best that I've tasted but acceptable. Probably because the best barista (they put his award in front of cafe) is not around.

The peanut-butter caramel cheesecake was awesome as it has this thick penut butter taste. Got a layer of chocolate in the middle but not overpowering the peanut. If you love peanut-butter, you should get this one.

Since the waiter is so nice (Yan/Sufian this is for you!) he gave us a complimentary Chocolate Mousse (I guess since we didnt order it so I didn't know the name). It has a thick chocolate favours (seriously the chocolate is to die for) but super light texture. And suprise peanut at the bottom.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit here so much. Will definitely come again.
