“best hotel i have ever stayed in”

we stayed for 2 nights in the shangri-la hotel and can safely say that it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in, especially considering the price we paid (£80 per night). the staff and service is outstanding from the moment you arrive and you are looked after in every sense. we stayed in a delux room and on both occasions (stayed 2 seperate nights) we were upgraded to the next grade of room- on our 2nd night we asked if it would be possible to have a view of the petronas towers and this was graciously provided, even though these are more expensive rooms. i slept extremely well in the rooms which have huge beds and are very comfortable. after checking out on the final night we were able to use the swimming pool and facilities before going to the airport that night which was great. the lobby lounge is beautiful and we had delicious cocktails before going into KL. the hotel has an excellent central location, just 5 mins walk from KLCC and easy access to public transport should you not fancy walking over to chinatown.
overall i cannot praise this place enough- if we are ever in KL again we will most definately be staying here and will be exploring the other shangri-la options across Asia.

Room Tip: ask if you can have a view of the towers!

The staff at this hotel are exceptional and have been very well trained. Friendly, eager to help, professional. The pool was pleasant and the canapes and cocktails at the Horizon Club were outstanding. Breakfast was top-notch. Our children were able to borrow free dvds to watch in the evening, which was appreciated. But the rooms were a real disappointment. We had booked two interconnecting Premier Selection Suites, which should have been good, as they cost us enough. The bathrooms were lovely and the facilities in the rooms were fine - comfortable bed and nice coffee pods; it was the dated and shabby decor from The Brown Era that was a let-down. The carpet was a worn tan colour and wrinkled in places. The rooms, at least the ones we had, needed re-carpeting and fresh wallpaper. A pity, as this hotel was outstanding in every other way.

I believe thgis is amongst the best 5 hotels I have stayed in the world. Shangri-la Schenzen would be second. The standard is very high and the staff are excellent and fufil the "home away from home " .

If you want to join a really wonderful holiday in KL, you have to be in Shangri-La KL. This was my second stay in this hotel, but they could increase the level of services. As a Golden Circle member they offered me suite complementary, because they run out the Horizon Club rooms. Horizon club services are magnificent, sometimes no more food was necessary for dinner due to the wide varieties of canapes was given on the Horizon Club. Unforgettable and amazing experience was in the breakfast in the Lemon Garden as well, if you prefer western style, or japanese or chinese all of these choices part of the food, best place to try real authentic foods from Asia.

Room Tip: Horizon Club rooms are excellent and located in the higher level to get better view to the city.

The hotel stay was faultless. I can't fault it apart from a few things here and there. Service was great, food was good, near the petronas towers so very good location.

I had noticed however that being a vegetarian the food setup for breakfast was not very vegetarian friendly. Baked beans were placed near the beef balls and people kept using the same spoon. Not very smart as it was a bit confusing. But then Malaysia is not a very veg friendly country! The veg food was scattered all over the place. Not in one section in terms of the hot food.

Other than that the stay was pleasant, the jacuzzi was small but nice. Thoroughly enjoyed being alone in the jacuzzi most of the time.

Highly recommend this hotel had a fantastic stay. Originally had booked at the mandarin oriental but cancelled to stay at the shangri la, no regrets had an amazing stay.

we stayed at Shangri la Hotels before - we know what to expect, and we weren't disappointed. From checking in long before the actual check in time to leaving. It was splendid! Upon arrival at hotel we were told that our room was not ready and we could upgrade if we so desired to a horizon club room. This we decided to do and for the extra it is well worth it as you have a great view of the Petronas towers and also access to club room. We have stayed" club class" with other hotel groups, however Shangri la takes some beating as the drinks are branded and numerous in selection. The staff really put themselves out, thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room on higher floor to have good view of Petronas Towers.

This is definitely the best hotel I've ever stayed in KL. The room was an average size but it is very clean and cozy enough, location was great as it was almost walkable to anywhere within the city. Service was impeccable, staff were all friendly and helpful. We'll be coming back soon!
