We arrived at the hotel to be greeted with flowers for our honeymoon and were offered a reduced rate discount to a horizon club room. We took the discount and were not disappointed. We had a large bed, great tv, luxurious bathroom and a 20th floor view of the patronas towers.

Because we were in the horizon club we had free internet access, complimentary breakfast, soft drinks throughout the day, afternoon tea and cocktail hour. We were also able to borrow dvds (which we did when the rain was awful one evening). The staff couldn't have been friendlier - they knew our names after the first day and arranged all of our trips for us, phoning various companies to get us the best deal. The beds were also turned down every evening and slippers were next to the bed and also a book mark and a bottle of water.

We've never done 5* before the honeymoon and this was well worth it. We felt really special although if we'd thought about upgrading earlier we would probably have packed a few more smart/casual items to wear in the horizon lounge.

"The pub" was nice (located on first floor). Expensive for Malaysia, especially drinks, (but no more expensive than UK) but good English pub food that was really handy to go to after a day of travelling and live covers band that were really good.

The hotel location was amazing - a bit difficult to cross the main road (the pedestrian lights never seemed to go green so had to make a run for it) but a 5-10 minute walk to petronas towers, lots of parks nearby and plenty of bars and restaurants. Suria KLCC 9shopping centre next to petronas towers) had a good food court that had all the typical fast food places from UK but also noodle bars etc - really cheap and a good way to try some local food.

Had a trip to the elephant sanctuary - was amazing, fed elephants, rode on an elephant and sat on an elephant that dunked us in the river. A fabulous day (a bit of queing and a long drive) but an experience that we'll never forget.

I stayed in this hotel with my Mum. This hotel is fantastic. Brilliant location and amazing staff. Our room was spotless and very well equipped with free internet. The breakfast was the most amazing breakfast I have ever seen in my life. Oh my Goodness!!! Words cannot describe it, it was truly amazing! The spa was very good but does charge higher end international prices.

I am a great believer in eating what the locals eat, however as we were waiting to go to the airport we ordered some club sandwiches in the hotel lobby. They were delicious. Well worth splashing out and ordering! The staff in the lobby were also so friendly and lovely.

All in all I cannot wait to return to this hotel as soon as I can. It was fantastic!!! If you don't stay here you are seriously missing out!

I stayed here with my partner in November and found the Shangri-La to be a magnificent hotel in one of the best cities in the World. We arrived late from a delayed flight to find the concierge run to our taxi, pick up our bags and talk very cordially whilst heaving our luggage! The lobby is stunning and the service throughout the hotel is nothing short of excellent. At one point I found the iron did not work in my room to find a member of staff come up and whisk my shirt to laundry and back within 1/2 an hour free of charge!

The room is big, comfortable and luxurious. A very comfortable bed, a spotless and tasteful bathroom and excellent ammenities. We chose to upgrade to the Horizon Club to get a bigger room and breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails for an extra £50. This included a dvd rental service, free tea and coffee all day and our own personal reception.

You also have a pool surrounded by the skyscrapers, Petronas Towers and KL Tower which is perfect for a morning swim. There's a Gym with sauna, steam room as well as everything you expect plus little touches such as toilettries in the changing rooms for afterwards.

Every little touch of this hotel is brilliant.

The hotel is right in the heart of the capital and a few minutes walk from the Petronas Towers. From the pool area (which is fantastic, accompanied by a jacuzzi) you can see a wondeful view of the KL Tower. Lovelly tennis courts are also on the grounds where we were served ice cold water and ice during our games. This was compliments of the hotel. Amazing service both around the pool and in the rooms. Actual rooms were big, well furnished and clean. On our visit we had the Brazil and Argentina soccer players stayin in the hotel (their five a side teams) .

this is a great hotel if you want to visit the Patronas towers or have a look around Jalan Bintang for the shopping as it is close to a monorail station. The twin towers are an easy walk from the hotel although you will have to brave the traffic to cross the road. The KL tower is also within walking distance. The lift that takes you to the top is very fast so be prepared for your ears to pop!KL is a great city to visit as a stopover as we did as it has enough of interest both in the city and in in the surrounding area to make it worth staying for a few days.If you get the chance to upgrade to the Horizon Club do so but only if the price is right!

I have stayed at this great hotel many times - and it is one of my favourites anywhere in the world. Great staff and service, excellent location, superb restaurants and facilities. Beautiful rooms and that real test - fabulously comfortable beds and pillows!

The fitness centre and pool are a first class facility in its own right. The staff are tremendous and extremely helpful, the epitome of service.

All the restaurants are excellent, as is the service in all of them. Highly recommended if you are going to be spending any time in KL.
