“Good business hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

Was here for two nights. First of all, I must say that if you expect to arrive at a peak day and time such as Friday evening, then it is probably better to take the express train (28min direct) than a car (1.5hr jam). All the staff here are very polite and friendly. The buffet spreads for breakfast and lunch are superb. Look for the cute sausage trays - little rolls of meat, literally and constantly rolling on themselves! The hotel gym is as well equipped as a professional gym! (Highly impressed) Note that the swimming pool actually connects to the pool of Hilton next door - how interesting! If you order in-room service, get the oxtail soup - excellent complement to your main course; the menu is broad-spectrum. The rooms are huge, and TV large with comprehensive options. Wifi is most consistent inside the rooms and at the pool side. Looking at the other reviews, I agree this is not the best place if you wanna do intensive shopping, but fantastic if you are staying just for business.

Dear Derrick A,

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

I am happy that you had wonderful two-day stay with Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur and are able to explore the many services and facilities that we have in store for you. No doubt we may not be located in KL city centre; however, being strategically situated in nation's transportation hub, KL Sentral, it is in fact very accessible from hotel to visit many shopping havens in KL area. Furthermore, with the recently opened NU Sentral Mall, guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy some retail therapy and foodies venues within this vicinity while having a relaxing stay at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.

We hope that you will visit us again and explore the many fun things happening within the hotel area.

Warm regards,

I had lost track of the Meridien chain, now part of the sprawling, rather characterless Starwood conglomerate. The original strong French identity and style of the chain has disappeared completely, sad to say. Nevertheless, its KL outpost is singularly well located (right by a major subway and railway hub), well run, with adequate rooms sporting beautiful views, and offering excellent food. The elegant gastro-pub offers flawless, creative meals at very reasonable cost. Its executive Lounge is top-notch with exceptionally helpful staff. The dynamic General Manager is everywhere and at all hours on the job. And when something goes wrong, as it often does in hotels, here it gets fixed pronto. For all of these reasons, the over-busy lobby, the slow lifts (due to the very vertical nature of the hotel) and other minor glitches area easily forgotten.

Dear Frequenttraveller076,

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and we appreciate your comment regarding the overall concept of Le Meridien brand. Starwood has a distinctive brand concept and design. For Le Meridien, its brand reflects a juxtaposition of old with a contemporary design, which creates a discover journey whenever guests visit an Le Meridien hotels. Le Meridien has always celebrated its Parisian heritage by introducing initiatives such as Eclairs or Sparkling programmes that commemorate its rich history.

We hope that you will visit us again and be wowed with all the development we have in store for the this hotel.

I stay at this hotel frequently but there have been changes in the area which have enhanced the appeal of this hotel.

We ran a training course here and had a choice of one of the meeting rooms on the 6th floor or the meeting room attached to the Business Centre on the 3rd (lobby) floor. I was so impressed with the help that Rose from the Business Centre that we opted to take this meeting room and we weren’t disappointed! The service and help from Rose was superb throughout our training course and helped to make our stay there a resounding success.

Similarly, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff throughout the hotel from the lobby to the lounge on the 33rd floor was superlative!

I was upgraded to room 1771 which was a Terrace Suite and had its own private balcony and though this was great, I found the Kuala Lumpur climate too hot and humid to spend any time outside. This is the first time I’ve experienced this room and if you get a chance, try this room!

This hotel is conveniently located directly opposite Sentral Station so it’s s very swift trip in on the KLIA Express straight to the hotel. There’s now a newly opened shopping mall, Nu Sentral. Attached to Sentral station making it even more convenient to pop out to get some retail therapy! It seems tough that only about half the space in the new shopping mall is occupied at present but there are many signs of new stores opening soon! There’s no food court here yet and just a smattering of fast-food places on the 4th floor but I’m sure there’ll be many more joining them soon!

On checking into my room, I was very pleasantly surprised to find three very yummy chocolate éclairs waiting for me! There were also other very pleasant touches like the incense burner which I enjoyed!

Summarising, great staff, great service and very convenient location and recommended to all!

Room Tip: Try 1771 as it has its own private balcony

Dear RayC888,

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

I would like to personally thank you for all your support and positive comments. Rest assure that I will personally share your wonderful review with all associates in the hotel especially Rose from Business Centre. Over the past few years, KL Sentral has grown by leaps and bounds and it has become a vibrant location to stay because of its connectivity and recently opened shopping mall, Nu Sentral. Though at this point the shopping mall is 60% occupied, I am very sure that the next time you visit us, there will be more walk options in terms of foodies choices and retail therapy venues in this mall.

We look forward to your visit again and do check out our fantastic and value added room promotions at lemeridienkualalumpur.com.

Service: We arrived early at 11am which was a earlier than the usual check in time and upon arriving at the reception area, we were promptly checked in and given a room with almost no waiting time, whats more... they have also noted our request for a room on a high floor....and arranged our stay on the 34th floor! : )

Value:I can say we have got the best value! It costed us only SGD150.00 per night via a third party booking site (after taxes but without breakfast and internet)

Sleep Quality : One of the most comfy beds I have ever slept on...

Location: Located stragetically next to KL Sentral interchange (and next to the new NU Sentral mall). It was hassle free travelling to any part of KL via their LRT/MRT/Monorail network... and it was only a brief comfy 40 mins to KLIA2 via the KLIA Express!

Breakfast: I give it 5/5. Huge variety or quality food! We topped up another MYR69++ per person for a breakfast and no regrets at all!

Will definately put up at Le Meridien again the next time I visit KL.

P.S If you're in KL for shopping... they have free shuttle buses to the Gardens Shopping Centre at the hotel basement. : )

I stayed 3 notes on business and found the hotel exactly what was required. The upgrade room was really well appointed and modern. I used the buffet restaurant for dinner and it was as expected in this star of hotel and the staff were efficient. It has a great gym with a huge bright room and great levels of machines and equipment. The rooftop pool is beautiful.

A very good hotel, nearby the central station from the airport takes you 35 minutes. A walk of maybe 2 minutes to the hotel. The rooms are very space full. The breakfast are fabulous a lot of choice. It's to bad they don't serve bacon (moslim country).

Room Tip: all rooms are fine

This is my first stay at a Le Meridien and the first impressons on it was great. Very artsy place, like visiting an art gallery...living up to their theme. Their pool & facilities have this resort feeling to it so it's very relaxing...the lounge Gastropub play nice progressive music in the evening, elevating a lot of class to the atmosphere. The front desk facade was really eye catching, one can stare on it and get hypnotised while waiting for color change. The lobby are heavily scented, i personally loved perfumes but it may sometimes annoyed the nose. The scent can really stuck with you and lasts for the whole day!
The room is on a smaller scale but roomy for 1 person. Clean with great blankets & pillows, very comfortable. Apparently all the normal rooms are tagged as SPG floors even at the lowest levels, so one can expect 6 bottles of drinking water.
Dined in at their Italian restaurant Favola, really satisfying and being an SPG member, after the discount all become so reasonable! Their breakfast is extensive, they have nachos...whoa! Tasted real good too! Overall a satisfying stay, can't wait for my next visit to KL and make Le Meridien my preffered choice.

Greetings from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur!!

Thank you for making Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur as your preferred Hotel when you visited Kuala Lumpur. I am happy that though this is your first time staying our hotel, you were able to explore and experience the many facilities and service that we have in store for you. However, I appreciate your comment with regards to the scent and will review this with my team as to see if the control programme on the scent equipment is too high. I am happy that you were able to explore the many wonderful cuisines at Favola and Latest Recipe during your stay with us.
