We had a renovated room and the hotel is everything you may expect from a 4 star hotel. Spacious, brand new clean room, good service, friendley staff who fullfilled all my wishes and give us a free upgrade. Good breakfast with enough variation. Pool needs more ambiance though and the fitness room is a bit small. Hotel is 20 m from Lot 10 and about 50 m from monorailstation. Petronas tower 10 min with taxi, about 10 MR.
From international airport to the hotel is about 74 MR and 40 minutes with taxi. We booked at the airport an airporttaxi budget style, next stop after pickup bagage.

Good to know: starting fare of taxi is 3 MR, every extra km is 1 MR extra. The Bleu Executive Taxis start with the fair of 6 MR and every extra km is 2 MR. We were told not to ride if the price seems unreasonable and/or the driver refuses to use the meter. EVERY taxi has a meter! We were warned that the drivers from India ask 3 or 4 times more then the normal price. We also experienced this ourselves unluckely....

This hotel is the next neighbour of Royal Park Hotel, but they say the hotels are not connected.

Definetly book this hotel again!

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated (non smoking) room.

Staying in this hotel was a nightmare for me. I've been informed by travel agent that they had made payment to this hotel for my stay. So, upon checked in, I was told that I hadn't made any payment by the front desk lady. I'd explained to her but she still explained to me that they hadn't received any payment from the agent. I just checked in and went to my room and called the travel agent and asked them to clarify this matters with the management. Moments after that the agent called and told me that wvwrything was okay. She asked me to call Sales and Marketing Department of this hotel to confirm this matter. Thanks to Fina because she is really attentive and helpful compared to your front desk staff which are lazy to move. After everything went well, I laid on my comfy bed. I found hair or pubic hair on my bed. That was so gross. I don't want to complain because I had a bad impression already with tje front desk staff. The next day around 10 a.m while I was shower, a housekeeping lady knocked my door and asked me what time I was going to check out. When I answered her 12 p.m she juat walked by with her sulking face. That is rude. This hotel need to train their staff. Dont just simply hire unqualified staffs. When I checked out from the hotel, there was no apologize from the lazy front desk staff. Not even a word although they made a mistakes. I gave credit to other staffs except the front desk. I paid for the hotel so I didn't expect to be treated like this. I'd been to many hotels but honestly this is the worst hospitality from the front desk ever I met. The manager should do something because this hotel has a lot to give and need to improve more

Another fantastic stay at the “Hotel Royal” for 3 nights after 3 weeks of touring in Hong Kong, Penang & Langkawi.

This hotel is now our home away from home. This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this hotel in the last 12 months.

The hotel is in an ideal location. Next to Lot 10, and across the road from Sungei Wang Shopping mall. Pavilion is a 5 min walk away. Monorail is a 2 min walk away. Jalan Alor is a 5 min walk away.

I consider the hotel to be excellent value for money.

This hotel has changed so much since our 1st stay in November 2011. I was not happy that time, and said so in my review, my main complaint being about the staff attitude & service. I was contacted by the hotel boss, and to his credit, he acted on the problems.
But on our 2nd stay in May 2012, the staff had obviously gone through a lot of training and the staff attitude and service had improved 100% since Nov 2011.
I didn’t think it possible, but the staff and service has improved even more since Nov 2011.

It had taken us nearly 2 hours to get from LCCT to the hotel by taxi. Terrible weather near LCCT caused the traffic to crawl along as you couldn’t see far in front of you. Then we hit peak hour traffic in KL.

But what a delight to finally arrive at the hotel and be welcomed by Abu “smiley face” door man, and some other staff members. The welcomes from staff are so genuine and its a real comfort to us. Abu is always ready to give a wonderful smile and hug to us, he is indeed a great asset to the hotel.
Mr Sazrul Fadzil, was there to greet us also. He is a wonderful friendly man, who cares for not only the customers of the hotel, but for the staff and the reputation of the hotel. He is the boss, who cares. His attitude is what makes the hotel service & staff, so genuinely friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is undergoing renovations, stage by stage. This time it was the front lobby. But it didn’t cause any bother as they made certain, that there was someone to escort you to the reception desk.
The hotel is renovating the whole hotel, but they are doing it so that it has minimal impact on the client. Floor by floor and section by section in the public areas.

Check-in is super quick. Lots of staff at check-in desk. In fact they know us so well now, that we simply hand over our credit card and sign and they return it to our room later on, along with our luggage. We trust the hotel and staff so much, that we arnt concerned about doing check-in this way.

This time we stayed in a newly refurbished deluxe room. Tastefully decorated in nice soothing colours, clean uncluttered furniture. There is plenty of room to put your bits and pieces around and be able to find them. Lifts are quite quick and smooth. Our room was a decent size, enough room for us and our luggage and for the luggage not to be in our way all the time, as it had its allocated space. It had the beds on one wall (2 singles as per our request). On the other side is one long table. It has luggage racks on one end (2 storey) for both suitcase & hand luggage.
On the right side of the long table is a cupboard underneath where you will find fridge, kettle, coffee & tea mugs, glasses and tea, coffee sachets, sugar & milk. The TV is mounted on the wall above this section. Nice new TV, with excellent reception on all channels. Then you have a desk & chair to use for your laptop or writing postcards etc. There is a large mirror mounted on the wall above the desk area. At the end of this, they can provide a portable luggage rack to accommodate another suitcase.

In the room is also a wardrobe, with drawers and a safe. Plenty of hangers and room to hang clothes.

The beds were nice and comfortable. I don’t understand why most beds in Asia range from very hard to very very hard, to rock hard.

In front of the window is a lounge chair and a coffee table.

The bathroom, is bright, fresh, clean, and has plenty of shelves for storage. Towels, are big and fluffy. A huge shower area with plenty of water pressure. Love this bathroom. I am not a fan of the shower over the bathtub, so am glad when I have a walk in shower with good doors that do not leak water all over the bathroom. Bathroom also has a hair dryer and an outlet for a shaver.

We didn’t have to use our own electrical powerpoint converter, as they supplied a very simple flat plated top that simply slipped into the Malaysian power point and fitted our Australian products. I found this very handy, as when we use our universal adaptor, we have to support it by putting a cup under it, to hold its own weight, otherwise it doesnt stay plugged in. And only one item can be used at a time. Every powerpoint had this flat plate, so we could charge several items at once and leave the laptop plugged in.

I can highly recommend this hotel, especially if want to feel comfortable, and be welcomed and looked after by genuinely friendly, caring staff and management.

In fact I have just booked for our 4th stay in February 2013.

Location is perfect, right in the middle of the action, clean spacious rooms. On the downside the hotel is on the older side, breakfast is over priced (considering the country) and wifi is ludicrously priced. Pool is nothing special, no hot water for periods of time as "a new tank is being installed and needs time to boil" apparently. Don't count on being able to check in at the stated 2pm time.

I and my girlfriend stayed end of November at this hotel for one day. Booked through corporate tour agent. When we booked the reception did not asked any (creditcard/cash) depoist only our ID's.

We asked if there is a free internet in the rooms but got to hear that we have to buy.

After we checked in at the room we called how we can activate the internet. They said that we have to pay for the internet which I already knew. I asked if they can send someone to activate and I will pay when checked out. They said they will send someone to our room.

After half an hour waiting I called the reception again when they are planning to activate the internet. And again they said we have to pay for the internet and again I asked them if they can send someone. A bit irritated I gave my girlfriend the phone and they said to her that they will come upstairs.

After one hour waiting I went to the reception and asked why they not send somebody to activate the internet. They said that we have to pay first...a bit of surprised I told them why they not saying it through the phone. And why the hotel guest have to go downstairs to request at the front desk and pay? They have our credentials and while we checked out we could pay the bills.

I told them that they are in the hospitality industry and have to know how to serve the clients....

After my irritation I paid the 30 ringits and got my internet access.

The hotel is in a fantastic location but they have to improve the service.

Further the rooms fixtures and bathroom is "old" and not maintained well (door of the bathroom could not be closed, flooding over the bathroom floor...). The next early morning we encounter loud noise...probably because of renovation. Perhaps they could give notice to the guests?

If they can improve the service and do some renovation it would be a great hotel....

My advice to guests that want to stay in this hotel; don't expect much...and expect self service.....NO VALUE FOR MONEY! Check tripadvisor before you stay in this hotel...

Room Tip: ask the reception if they have renovation during your stay....
