The Maya is a zen oasis of calm in a hot bustling city. The location is excellent, right across Petronas towers and the huge Surya mall. The decor is minimalist chic but the rooms are vast! We stayed in an executive suite with stunning views, gorgeous bathroom, nespresso coffee maker and as a perk free drinks and snacks on the rooftop lounge every evening. We loved the breakfast, not the biggest we ever saw but chic, opulent, healthy and delicious. And the spa pool was heavenly, the oerfect way to start and end each day in sweltering KL!

Room Tip: Splash out and pay extra for an executive suite. They are massive.

We stayed 2 nights Studio with Breakfast & WiFi - Got KL tower & cemetery view - (didn't get -requested for Petrons view :(
Big Hotel 22 floors all up we got room 1108 11 floor, Modern hotel clean super comfy beds rain shower WiFi in rooms small-medium size rooms.
Rooms walls are Paper thin!!! So loud noises from other rooms.

Pro's
- Modern small-med sized rooms
- King super comfy pillows & bed
- Big Bath, rain shower & bathroom
- Floor to ceiling windows view of Kl tower
- Free WiFi
- Hydro therapy Pool
- Close to Petrons Towers 5 min walk
- Beside Trams 5mins walk
- Free Shuttle to China Town & Shopping mall
- Nice admentities - bath salt shampoo ect
- Flat screen TV

Con's
- Walls are paper thin!!!! Could clearly hear loud inconsiderate people next door yelling and laughing at 2am in the morning & could hear shower and pipes & doors from adjoining rooms!!
- Breakfast isn't the best as they have No bacon as its a mostly Muslim country but they had meat ham spam?? so its silly, but they had most breakfast things.
- View a Cemetery yay (after requested Petrons tower view but got Kl tower view due to availability a little disappointed)
- Expensive Drinks and Food they put TAX on top of all there prices so BEWARE !
- Tolet is weird doesn't really flush properly

Maybe would Stay again the noises from the other rooms was very off putting!! Walls have No installation, I would more disappointed if I stayed in a more expensive room! But it was a nice 5 star Hotel :)

Tips/Hints
Patrona's Towers are awesome at night
You can try and ask for a room view of the towers but there no guarantee!
Free shuttle to china town and Shopping Mall
Cover yourself up! if you don't want Creepy Guys looking at you!!! but They may still steer and wissle if you look like a westerner.

Shopping - Lots of shopping I liked the Times Square because most of the shops you can try things on and have more variety + if you have kids it has a fun park movies roller coaster up the top of it! But don't eat and drink too much because the toilets aren't western ones!!
Plaza's over the road are a lot cheaper but most of the shops are No Try On policy which is frustraighting as I won't buy anything if I can't try it on!
Petrons ( Kl twin towers) is nice but more expensive shops cheaper non-designer shops are at bottom floor. All Designer shops are up on the higher floors.
I think to go up the viewing deck I think is about 60 rigget
Ive been told there a better view from the KL tower which is cheaper.
Taxi from Hotel Maya to Malls was between 10-17 riggit and mall to Hotel Maya between 7-10 rigget depending on traffic
Trans aren't far away that take you straight there

Room Tip: You can try and ask for a room view of the towers but there no guarantee! Possible ask for a quite...

Huge rooms which are more or less newly renovated. Spectacular bathroom! The restaurant on the main floor has great food which is reasonably priced. Would be my first choice in KL>

i heard a lot of hotel Maya till this time have take opportunity to stay with them.
My trip by taxi to this hotel was surprisingly good with the nice and smiling taxi driver ( which is completely opposite of usual horrible KL taxi driver). The young Indian driver even charge by meter and do not try to haggle. some tips given is definitely his share of making the journey joyful. the location is just very short walk to KLCC, make it so convenient. try to sky lounge at the 13rd floor and see the impressive view of the twin peak of petronas building.

The nice receptionist upgrade my room in 5th floor, while going to the room, I notice the pool at the 3rd floor and it looks impressive, even it is not big size. I would recommend anyone to try hydro pool, it is very relaxing. overall surrounding by natural bamboo fence, it give peaceful feeling inside the tall building. the bathroom at the pool and steam room is beautiful. i love the tiles and they way the bath room designed.
The building itself is smartly crafted. it doesn't have very big land, but still i feel spacious. with alley an open air in the middle, thus reducing the need of aircond and electricity.

I felt the room has a bit low ceiling, but after a while it is ok and roomy. i got the room with big glass windows from top to down, give me the whole view of KL tower.
love the bath tub, the oval bathtub is placing just beside the bed with glass between them, with impressive lighting placement, the overall room feeling is homey.
be careful with the bathroom sink, it seems the interior designer has choose the style over the function. the sink is so shallow and flat that the water will spill to your body if you open the tap too strong. I find that this happen to a lot of hotels ( including Mandarin Orchard)

Overall, this is very much recomended hotel to stay. the only drawback is the right behind the hotel is the muslem cemetery yard. if you are superstitious or horror freak person, this may the factor you want to consider. otherwise everything fine.

Room Tip: smile and ask about the occupancy rate today.

This was the 5th time we stayed at the Maya over the last 6 years and we have noticed the tear and wear seeping through. Unbeatable for its location and with a great breakfast and efficient service, the upkeep of the Maya needs serious attention. Walls are slowly peeling off, blinds are getting torn and towelracks are wobbly, coming off the wall.
Yet, still good value, but for how long?

Stayed here 3 years ago, and was impressed. Now looks a bit haggard. Service was variable, with some staff looking surly, but too be fair most of service was good. Wasn't help by a room with view of graveyard and motorway+ a building site. Would look elsewhere

We arrived early in the day after a long haul flight. Not only did they provide a room on arrival, we were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost. Modern, designer decor throughout. The best hotel toiletries I have ever seen. Toilet separate from bath and shower. Walk-in shower had a massive shower head. Dressing room. Complimentary tea/coffee & cakes in the lounge every evening, with magical views of Petronas towers from the adjacent balcony. Walk to Petronas towers which incorporates a great range of shops and a range of restaurants with outside dining, spectacular fountains and a supermarket. It was a luxury break at for a very reasonable cost while in transit in KL.
