Owner description: No trip to KL would be complete without a visit to the world's tallest twin towers. The skyscrapers are utterly stunning, particularly when illuminated at night. The Twin Towers Visit Operations is open Tuesday through Sunday and tickets are released at 8:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. To avoid disappointment, you can purchase your ticket in advance via online ticketing or at the Ticketing Counter, Concourse Level.

Still feeling a tad underwhelmed by my recent visit to the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai (where they don't take you anywhere near the top), I was reluctantly planning to go to the top of Petronas. But the RM80 fee immediately turned me away, and I felt good about it. That is about US$27, and absolutely not worth it.

Instead I walked to the nearby sky tower (Menara KL) and went to the top for RM 47. Great view of Petronas, and the whole city from there.

Of course, Petronas is stunning from the outside, so absolutely go and take pix. Also enjoy the shopping mall, but don't get suckered into going to the top.

When KL wanted to place itself on the map they didn't creat just one but TWO eye catching landmarks. The twin towers are the universal landmark of the country. It is impossible to take a horrible picture of it. It registers well on ALL cameras. In between the towers is the Suria KLCC. A posh shopping center that houses all international brands. A visit to KL is not complete without visiting its observatory above for a panoramic view of the City. A must see!

When in KL, why wouldn't you go up these twin towers and enjoy the view as they are such an iconic part of the city. Yes there are tourists and locals going up which makes for a nice mix and you can not help but marvel at the expertise that went into designing and building these awesome buildings. Don't miss it but go right to the top viewing platform and not just the walkway between the two buildings on the 41st and 42nd floors, it's a much better view at almost twice the height!

Queued up for almost 2 hours only for a 10 min walk along a small enclosed bridge. Not worth the wait though spectacular views await you on a clear day

I would say a visit/tour to the Petronas Twin Tower is a must while in Kuala Lumpur.
The view from 370 meters @ the 86th floor from the observatory is spectacular - overlooking the city skyline especially in the evenings.
It would be advisable to book your tickets (RM 80 / USD 25) in advance to choose your preferred time, to avoid disappointment.
Standing on the Sky Bridge on the 41st floor is also very impressive by being able to experience/feel the floor/bridge articulate during windy days!
