“Buffet Heaven”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

Tried this restaurant during breakfasting time and as expected it was so crowded. The buffet selection was heavenly, from international menu, Indian dishes, until local Melayu food. The buffet price is one of the most expensive one in Kuala Lumpur but it was all worth-it.

“Always an excellent experience.”

I've been to this restaurant at least ten times and have never been disappointed. The buffet for every meal is often showcasing a different culture but the quality is always high and the decor is beautiful.

“Gem in Kuala Lumpur”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Didn't actually have a meal at Mosaic at the Mandarin Oriental - went upstairs instead to Lai Po Heen (Cantonese cuisine). Lai Po Heen is by far one of the best restaurants I've been to for dim sum! We ended up going 4 times during our 5 night stay in Kuala Lumpur even though we stayed at the Grand Hyatt, not the Mandarin Oriental, and we will definitely be going back when we're next in KL. It's a great place for lunch - large, well-lit, spacious, busy but never too loud, and with a gorgeous view. The food was always freshly prepared and every dish we tried was mouthwatering. My favourites were the cha siew buns (barbecue chicken buns), barbecue chicken pastry, fried turnip cake, scallop congee, and durian pancake for dessert. The chicken buns almost melted in your mouth, and the durian pancake so smooth and creamy (must try if you like durian, I had at least 3 after each meal!). If you don't like durian, then try the mango pancake - it's equally excellent. The service was absolutely impeccable; I've never met such friendly and efficient staff! Even when the restaurant was packed, you never had to wait long for your food; it came so quickly! Special mention to Lawrence, who served us when we went. My mum and I both thought he was wonderful. The second time we went, the staff had already recognised us and were so warm, attentive, polite, and even humorous! They even surprised us with 2 delicious desserts on the third day (on the house): mango puree with ice cream, and yam cake with ice cream. Definitely recommend the yam cake to those who don't like their desserts too sweet! On our last day, they served us durian pancakes on the house and had written a lovely farewell message on a piece of chocolate - it was really very touching, and made us feel so warm inside. They really went out of their way to make us feel at home. It was the combination atmosphere, food, and service that made me fall in love with Lai Po Heen. This is what a spectacular dining experience should be!

“Dine experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

I am a fan of buffet.
I did my research and found out that mandarin Oriental Mosaic has many good reviews on their international buffet. To avoid any disappointment, I made my reservation via email 1 month ago for 7 pax and confirmation was given.
On arrival, my reservation was screwed; my name was not inside the guest list. As I thought that I am going to leave with great disappointment, Mosaic restaurant manager, Patrick Sondowski, came to our assistance. He was quick and got the staff arranged the necessary set up for us. He was polite and thoughtful. We were pleased with his excellent service.
As I had tried other nearby hotels international buffet in KL, I felt there is still room for improvement on Mosaic dessert.

“Great place for Buisness Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Good food, great service, comfortable dining, what more do you need when discussing work. Although I always stay at the Mandarin I do not eat there often but for entertaining clients who are in either of the three towers then this is ideal. There is a good selection on the menu to meet all tastes, the atmosphere is perfect and its an escape from the hustle of KL. Its not cheap but you can see what you are paying fore so you do not feel ripped off.
