Owner description: KL Tower or also known as Menara Kuala Lumpur, the tallest Telecommunication Tower in South East Asia & the 7th tallest in the world, was built to improve the quality of telecommunications and broadcasting transmissions. It has become a significant landmark and symbol that identifies Malaysia as a great tourist destination of the millennium and at the same time a testimony of Malaysia’s capability in the building of high technology facilities. Located atop Bukit Nanas at a breathtaking height of 421 meters, KL Tower was built blending the tower seamlessly with nature. Bukit Nanas is one of the oldest permanent forest reserves in Malaysia. It was gazette in 1906 and was formerly known as Bucket Weld Forest Reserve. Covering an area of approximately 9.37 hectares, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is the only remaining virgin tropical rainforest in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur. Serving as the green lung of the city, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is also home to an abundant of flora and fauna of the Malaysian tropical rainforest. In fact, KL Tower is the only tower in the world located within a forest! KL Tower is in the hospitality and business experience industry. It offers experiences such as viewing, dining, nature, adventure, event and shopping. Current products and services offered at KL Tower include Observation Deck, Revolving Restaurant (Atmosphere 360°), Mega View Banquet Hall for Meeting and Seminars / Private Functions such as Wedding in the Sky, Mini Theater, Amphitheater, F1 Simulator, Blue Coral Aquarium, KL Tower Mini Zoo and MKL Performing Arts Group.

“Great on a clear day, a must for tall building fans”

The view from the Menara Tower (KL Tower) is arguably better than from the Petronas towers, as you are outside in the open air and clear skies permitting its a great view. And you get to see all of KL and look at the Pertonas Towers.
The Menara Tower is a little hard to find the entrance too, but there is a free shuttle van that takes you from the gates up to the top of the hill. It's all of a 2 minute drive, but I was glad of it as I did not fancy walking up the hill in 35c heat and 80% humidity!

“The highest spot in town!”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

I had time to kill on a stop-over, and decided to visit the Menara Tower. From the nearest Monorail station it's around 20 minutes' walk to the Tower, or you can get a taxi. There are two prices of tickets, one to travel by lift/elevator as far as the restaurant (and extensive souvenir arcade - astounding amounts of overpriced and tacky gifts!) which costs around £10, and another costing around £20 which will take you all the way to the top & the viewing platform, which gives you a 360* view of the city & surrounding area. If you're not on a tight budget, go for the full experience! There is also what looks like a pleasant garden area at the base of the tower, but I didn't have time to visit this.

“Not for the faint hearted”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Fantastic views of KL however the Health & Safety measures were severely lacking. It was undergoing renovations and the only barrier to prevent you falling off was a plastic chain link fence.
Sure it's ok now as I think they were erecting glass safety barriers.
