Every time I have visitors I bring them to KL Bird Park. It is a real treat to see so many beautiful birds. The peacocks are spectacular especially when you get to see the males trying to impress the females. Lunch at the Hornbill Cafe is an experience in itself with the birds dropping by. I was there during a storm and interestingly when the rain came down every flamingo faced the same direction. A delightful experience for everyone!

For a local, I actually enjoy revisiting this place few times with family and some foreign friends. Walking into a huge aviary, you do not feel like you are in a cage at all. Birds have big space to fly around and they are very friendly with visitors. But PLEASE do not attempt to catch them or try to pull their feathers. I notice there are tourists who tried that and my friends have I have told them off before. If you see tourists or locals doing that, please tell them directly.

There are some areas where it is not even an aviary but you still see birds flying in to enjoy the man-made lakes and waterfalls. Goes to show that the environment is good enough for birds to be there.

Do remember to standby mosquito repellent. Unfortunately the place is also infested with mosquitoes. Not the whole place but some areas. If you are prone to mosquito bites or you're bringing young children, please remember to carry a repellent and put it on before entering.

For companies, you can also directly talk to the park to talk about having team building activities. I have done that too and the park has the entire activity planned out already with treasure hunting, meals and performances.

It is a nice park, but I must say foreign tourists have to pay unreasonable entrance fees - just like many other tourist attractions in Malaysia. This is an observation based on personal experience.
Although entrance fees are cheaper for MyCard holders, it is still expensive for whole family. Pity, especially for families with lower income! This park is actually great for children.

It’s ok I suppose but it look like it’s past it best .
Around $20 each to get in which I think is $10 over priced.
Lots of birds but in poor enclosures .
There is one enclosure with waterfalls ect but has around 10 white ducks and a old pelican.
We tool a few good pictures but I don’t think we will be going back
overall 4 out of 10

Had a lovely day here,
Spent roughly half the day which is all you may need if there’s a small number of you. Pleanty going on throughout the day including bird shows and feeding times

The bird show was entertaining and fun even without bringing kids.

The hornbill restaurant was extremely good value and pleasant food with attentive staff.
Overall a fun day out.

Have you wanted to see peacocks? And for variety, further peacocks?

How about some more peacocks?

This park has a lot of peacocks and to be fair, I've never seen so many peacocks.

Given the overall size of the aviary I would have expected more of the birds to be free roaming. The ostriches did not seem to be happy having pulled out many of their feathers and many other of the exotic birds were in cages (such as the hornbills and parrots) rather than walking around trying to find them. Unless you are a peacock, in which case you can be found everywhere.

It was indeed a large aviary, however I expected more of the birds to be free to fly hence 3 out of 5. Would be interesting for those with kids to visit.

KL bird park is one of the best bird parks in Asia. It is even better than Jurong because you can see the birds freely roaming inside the park from very close.

Also you can photos with birds at a much cheaper price than Jurong. You can also feed birds. A must visit place in KL.
