PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur

Having stayed at the Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur previously, I had no hesitation booking again for this overnight stay.

Welcome staff were efficient and friendly, check in time and effort was a breeze, and before we knew it we were in our room enjoying the view of the KL skyline.

Room was once again comfortable with the largest king sized bed I have ever seen! Immaculately clean rooms and bathroom - first class.

Breakfast is an absolute bargain and is the most impressive breakfast buffet I've ever experienced. Seriously, it covers everything you could ever desire for breakfast....and lunch....and dinner!

Check out was similarly painless - one small exception is the "hold" that is placed on your Credit card takes forever to be returned. Not sure if that is the fault of the hotel or the banks.

Overall a brilliant stay in a hotel in fabulous location. Will stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Try for a view toward Bukit Bintang...lovely!

Have stayed at the Parkroyal before as feel it is a very good hotel, the staff were all very courteous and helpful. The good location is ideal for those on vacation as you are central to most places and do not have to always rely on taxis.

This hotel is right in the middle of downtown Kuala Lumpur and ideal for both business and shopping. With most of the better shopping arcades all within a few minutes walk, there is not even time to suffer from the heat and humidity! But right opposite the hotel is a clasic KL shopping venue with something for everyone, so all tastes can be catered for.
A bit hard to get into during the rush hour, but once inside, it is an oasis of calm. The rooms are cozy, but well appointed and very reasonable for such a favourable downtown location. The 6th floor Pool is well located so that you can get most of the afternoon sun.

Room Tip: Ask for higher rooms to avoid traffic noise

This hotel is located in downtown of KL. It is convenient and a lot of nearby shopping areas with a walking distance. Monorail is in front of the hotel. Shopping areas ranging from luxury till true value for money are nearby so you can choose to fit with your style. Rooms are good with all 4 stars should have. As hotel is located in the intersection, it will have a noise from car interrupted you at night. Restroom and shower room are open area with only window closed so it is suitable for couple not for friend as you can see each other. if it is not maintainance well, you can see a water drop all nights. Breakfast is good. There are 2 restaurants here which are international and Chinese. Suggest to choose the room which you can see twin tower. Comparing to location, it is good for money as surrounding hotel is 5 stars and above with higher price.

Room Tip: Choose a room seeing twin tower and higher floor to avoid noise from street.

Stayed here for 5 nights (30th May-4th June). We came to Malaysia for our 5th wedding anniversary, and I had emailed the hotel to ask if they could make it as special as possible. On arrival, they had given us a room with a great view of the KL tower on a high floor as requested, and decorated the room with petals and left a nice card and fruit basket, not much but a lovely little touch.

The hotel itself is contemporary on the inside, lots of natural light, and our room was very spacious, again receiving lots of natural light, and very tastefully decorated with little touches to remind you you are in the Far East, rather than any generic chain hotel. The bed we had wawsn't a King, but some sort of Super-King monster, and very comfortable.

We only used the pool once as it was a busy stay in KL, nice place to cool down in the hot weather, although it did seem to shut a good 20 minutesbefore its stated closing time, which was a bit annoying one evening when we wanted a pre-dinner swim.

I had noted one tiny little housekeeping issue, and within 15 minutes it was dealt with, and the following day the hotel had left an apology note with again some complimentary things.

Accommodated a slightly late checout without any problems, and check-out took about 10 seconds (always a bonus since we're always running late!)

Didn't have the breakfast, as we went to one of the Mamak restaurants (Khalid's Curry House opp. Berjaya Times Square), had the BEST roti canai, breakfast for 2 came to around £1.50, amazing!

All in all, lovely hotel, unfussy service, with nice little touches to make our stay special

Check-in was fuss free. A bit upset that the recep could not locate my details despite having stayed in this hotel many many times. I wish the management could give the staff a bit set of uniform. What a gaudy goldie colour - its a whole lot better to change the staff uniforms. Room assigned was less than acceptable, plenty of road noise and its not a good thing to be awaken at 1-2am by a horde of motorbikes running loose then police sirens. Got a new room after tough negotiations the next day. Location is the key here. You get Sg Wang, Pavillion, Lot 10 etc. Forget Jalan Alor street food - its trash. Go for the Hotung food court, Secret Recipe (Sg Wang basement) and the slightly more expensive Overseas Restaurant around the corner. Buffet breakfast is decent, wide spread and they change a bit of it each day. One more thing, don't take the cab from the hotel to KLIA - its Myr90 when you hail a cab off the street and its Myr140 from this hotel (got it for 90 when I stayed elsewhere). One more, you get free Wi-Fi but the signals are kinda weak and a let down.
