Just finished 3 nights at Submarine Guesthouse Chinatown 206 Julan Tun H S Lee, formerly Reggae Guest house up until 3 months ago.
Place is clean, quiet, safe, staff pleasant. Only one men and one women’s washroom. Men’s shower is spacious and has a great rain shower with good pressure. Breakfast is toast, jam and instant coffee / tea which seems to be the norm in most hostel/dorms.
Down side - half the locker latches were broken. The kitchen / common area is tight. The two hand/face wash basins are in the kitchen/common area so people are brushing teeth and rinsing next to people eating. They have a flat screen tv in the common area but only one grainy Malaysian channel. There is only one computer so you might find yourself queuing up.
They have 6 bed mix rooms and also a women’s only room. Paid 30RM for mix 6 dorm.
Overall not a bad place, good sleep and would stay here if I needed a place. But just as a matter of personal preference, I've moved back to Suzie's across the street.
There are two Submarine Guesthouses, one at 9 Leboh Pudu, 50050 Kuala Lumpur,. This one is near Petaling area. It use to be the Reggae Guest House - 206 Julan Tun H S Lee but now under new ownership and name.More
