Description: Ah Koong Restaurant was founded in 1975 when it first opened its door in Taman Sentosa (Johor Bahru) as a family operated Fishball noodles stall. Since then, Ah Koong restaurant has expanded to a restaurant chain with over 100 employees across 4 outlets in Malaysia. Our flagship store remains in Taman Sentosa (Johor Bahru) and our 3 branches are situated in Jalan Pudu (Kuala Lumpur), Subang Jaya (Selangor) and EkoCheras Mall (Kuala Lumpur) respectively. Ah Koong Restaurant has since established itself as a household name when it comes to authentic fishball noodles.

Came across this friendly restaurant while wandering around the area. Indoors is A/C and also has an outdoors under an awning. Certainly the restaurant is busy and has a good choice on the menu. I had fish cake and Laksa, which were very good. Helpful staff which really helped my inadequate understanding of the menu!

Been here 3-4 times. Good food, famous for its "yong tau foo" (釀豆腐, tau foo filled with mixture of meat and/or fish paste). You can have the yong tau foo with curry mee, clear soup or tom yam, even the noodles you can opt for vege noodle. The fish paste pretty fresh and full of texture, but the price is at the high side. That said, the place is packed with patrons during lunch hours. Would have give it 4 stars if it is not because of the price. Parking there is pretty difficult.

This is our second visit so we were familiar with the ordering procedure. You select what you like from the yong tau foo offerings displayed on plates including the types of noodles( egg , wanton, spinach, etc). You can select clear broth, curry or tom yum broth. You can sit in the air conditioned section or outside without air conditioning but under an awning. Service from staff extended to bringing what you ordered to your table. That's the most you could expect! The taste and quality of yong tau foo is good. The meal for two cost RM75 but I would still encourage you to give it a go if staying nearby.

Bad service from the staff, found a cockroach lurking in the bowls near the order station. When the staff was informed she just used her hands to brush it on the floor and step on it.

Soup is tasty with pretty unique pork lard styled dried noodles. Fried items are a must to order, staffs do not speak mandarin, so please converse in english with them.

- Drinks are extremely basic and a little costly.
