“For the Religious Only”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

This large Mosque, built I believe with foreign money, is pleasantly quiet and spiritual when almost empty outside prayer hours. I find the Call to Prayer quite beautiful and love to stop and listen whenever I am in a Moslem nation. Don't forget to remove your shoes aty the doort or gate if you wish to enter.

“Perfect Pcs of History in Male'”

A old mosque representing the history of Islam in Maldives. Made by Lime Stone & Wood Hand Curved with Art that you will never see anywhere else. The Atmosphere around give you a fresh breeze to the past.

“intriguing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

its a small mosque not justified in pictures; you have to look with the naked eye & touch the walls to appreciate it. However, its design is not that of a typical mosque of that era as well as the rows drawn for prayers were oblique which baffled me

“Oldest mosque/building in Maldives”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

According to our guide, this dates back about 400 years. Out there is a water well used for washing before prayers and there was on the floor a jug at the end of a long pole used to draw water. Interesting and again worth a visit.

“Seems to be the oldest building in Male"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2013

The structure is old with traces of Buddhist architecture. There was a prayer going on and hence i didn't get the chance of entering the mosque.
