Over a length of approx. 1,3km you have to climb up a bit more than 200m of vertical distance. The path leads through a beautiful green forest. It looks almost surreal. Like on Pandora ;-)
When you are in good shape, you can make one direction below 40min.
The view on top from the platform is breathtaking.
Only with good hiking shoes, especially after rain showers, because it's getting very slippery and muddy.

We did this hike with 4 year old child. it was great. we park our car near where the trail starts ( on the shoulder of the road). you sweat allot. it took us about an hour and a half to climb to the top there is shade from the trees most of the way. at the end the view was beautiful.

We were not sure to take this hike with a little child - girl of 7 years - but it was not a great problem to klimb up this hike. It took us about 1 hour to get on top with a few stops taking photos and a rest. We started aroun 8:30 so to use the cooler morning for the climb up. It was all dry in end of october and no problems to climb on rocks. The rainforest or fog forrest was also dry but interessing to see the plants with thick moss covered. On top is a beautiful outlook to watch the north-west coast.

Breathtaking view from the top but you have to kind of climb your way up there. But worth it!!! Take some water.

If you have the opportunity, you should hike the Morne Blanc trail while on Mahe. We’re regular hikers and found the trail to be on the easier side of moderate. Although the weather was near perfect, the trail can be a bit slippery in spots so a bit of caution is warranted. But, the view from the top is worth it.

It took us about 35 minutes to get to the top at a reasonable pace, stopping several times for pictures. Coming back down took about 20-25 minutes, as it was a little slower going than it could have been to prevent slipping.

The view deck at the top was open, and if it’s a bit cloudy just wait a bit and you’ll get great views of the west side of the island.

Parking is on the side of the road at the trail head, and although we started at about 11 AM, there were many other hikers on the trail. We were also advised by the hotel where we stayed and by a taxi driver that it’s highly recommended that you hike with a local guide, due to the risk of robbery on the trail. We debated as to whether we go at it without a guide and ultimately chose to do so without incident. Not sure how prevalent the robbery threat is, but I suppose if you hike when there are others on the trail (between morning and early afternoon), you likely wouldn’t have an issue. Although that’s just one man’s opinion.
